Posted by Trev in Call of Duty 4, PLAYSTATION Store, PS3, PS3 software, PSN on September 20th, 2008
This weekend you can buy the variety map pack for Call of Duty 4 on the PSN at half price ($4.99) – although this appears to be USA only as the Euro PSN shows no reduction.
This weekend is also double XP to help you level up faster and you have an opportunity to play with the Infinity Ward devs. Add their PSN names below and hope you get an invite!

Eurogamer’s Afrika Review
Posted by Gary in Afrika, PS3 software on September 19th, 2008
Eurogamer has reviewed the Japanese (and currently only) version of Afrika:
It’s not perfect. The visuals are a little disappointing; they’re pretty rather than stunning. While the animals look realistic they don’t exhibit much individual behaviour, and their actions can be predictable. And, oh all right, hiding behind bushes can get a bit boring.
Still. Afrika is one of the most pleasant, enjoyable and gently engrossing games I’ve played in a while. It’s a shame Sony isn’t releasing it here, and it’s worth importing. Especially if you’re the type of person who can imagine experiencing a special kind of thrill from snapping a monkey up a tree instead of shooting a zombie in the face. Though it’s not as much fun as running over a lion, obviously.
Bah! I wish Sony would remove their head from their arses and release Afrika in the West!! It’s exactly the type of game that Sony needs to add to the PS3′s library.
More variety is always good, especially with a unique title like Afrika. Even if it is a niche title, these types of games should be given a chance to sell.
I bet if you had guns and a First Person view it would be released in the West…
LittleGoldPlanet: 21-Oct-08
Posted by Gary in LittleBigPlanet, PS3 software, PSN on September 19th, 2008
LittleBigPlanet has gone gold and is due to hit stores in North America on 10/21/08 (a Tuesday). Obviously there hasn’t been 9 new months suddenly added to the calendar, that’s just how the crazy Americans write the date.
It is scheduled to hit the UK on Fri 24th Oct.
October 21st: North America & Latin America
October 22nd: Europe, Australia & New Zealand
October 24th: UK & Ireland
Japan should get it around Oct 27th.
If you are a fan of Trophies, you can see a list of what lies in store for eager Trophy collectors in LBP here.
You’re going to have to be pretty creative if you want to earn the Platinum Trophy…
Stephen Colbert in Rock Band
That’s right Stephen Colbert from “Colbert Report” has a music video for Rock Band called “Charlene” and it is a free download for PS3 & 360 users. I don’t have this game, but if I did this would be a instant download for me
Here is the video:
