Is it just me.. or are blu-ray movies waaay too expensive? I tried to buy one, just to have. But I couldnt find ANY movie that I wanted to spend $30 on. I’m the type who enjoys going into Amoeba and picking up 5 dvds for $20.. am i just a cheap-o or is this common?

  2. Blu-rays are pricey, I usually get them when they are a deal off Amazon. Normally they are to pricey to buy locally.

??? I see BR movies on sale a Best Buy/WalMart/Target on sale for 15 to 20 dollars all the time. Sometimes even less. But if your using the internet to order stuff then yeah your being a cheap-o and its hard to beat them prices. You couldnt pay me to buy or take regular dvd’s anymore unless there anime’s.

lol.. alright Trieloth, guess I’m a cheap-o.. but I swear, I’ve never seen a blu-ray for any less than $25. I’d have a few by now if I saw $15. maybe I juar need to look harder ::shrug::

Trieloth is speaking the truth. If you haven’t seen a Blu-Ray under $25 you’re probably looking in the wrong places. At Best Buy every week they have a pretty varied selection of titles in the $15-20 range. Online, the deals only get better. Outside of a couple of “must have” Blu-Rays for our household I’ve yet to pay over $15 for a single movie (I did pay $45 for the Matrix Collection, but that comes out to just over $11 a disc). And I should mention, my collection is over 60 titles so far. Of the few titles I did buy at over $15 they were all new releases and were within $5-7 of the DVD version. I’ll gladly pay that premium to avoid suffering through another DVD. I haven’t purchased a DVD in years now.

I’m not a bargain seeker, it’s just not that hard to find great prices on these discs. If you can’t find them, try another store.
