Logitech Making PS3 Adapter for Harmony Remotes

We can’t give you all the details just yet, but we can say that this adapter will, when used with any Harmony remote, give you complete control of your movie-watching experience on PS3. It will also turn the PS3 on and off – and allow you to set up your Harmony activities to include the PS3 just as you would any other device. You also won’t need to dedicate any of your valuable USB ports to get that control.

I’d prefer fully integrated Bluetooth support over an adapter, but this is still a huge improvement. Harmony remotes are some of the best universal smart remotes and it’s great to be able to properly integrate a PS3 into that type of setup. Beyond just the PS3, some new TVs are starting to use Bluetooth for advanced remote control as well.

I cannot wait for this. Right now I have a harmony and my PS3 bluetooth. My harmony can control the tv, receiver, sat box, and even the 360. I would love for it to also control my ps3, although it would be hard to give up the ps3 bluetooth remote. That is one fine product.

Since I already use a Harmony remote to control my system, this is good news for me. I’ll reduce the number of remotes I use by half! I just hope that it works well, and isn’t too pricey.

Hmmm… Logitech Harmony? This had to be one of my worst experiences of all universal remotes ever. Their supposedly smart system of modes turned out impractical as if only one device of the bunch misses only one of the (long) commande sequences, you end up with a desynchronized situation that has to be fixed by using the original remotes.
I went back to a noname taiwanese universal remorte with a learning function, and never looked back.

John – if you end up with a desynchronized situation (which I can’t recall ever happening more than a time or two in over 2 years), you don’t have to use other remotes. Just hit the Device button on the Harmony, and pick your device, and hit the power on button for that device and you’re fine.
