PlayStation Cloud

Sony registered the “PS Cloud” trademark on March 24, 2009. Obviously, this is simply a trademark and doesn’t necessarily mean that there are any real development efforts taking place.

But it does raise some suspicion…

According to http://OnliveFans.com, Playstation registed the domain name for Playstation Cloud (playstationcloud.com).

If this is true then I’m excited as heck!!

If Playstation Cloud is a trademark then that means that they may already have a product or service behind the curtains. I know a little legal stuff about registering a trademark and to do that it needs to already be on something or you have to have a heap of money. Also how is the judge supposed to know what he is trademarking without something to see. It’s possible that it’s only a concept thus far, but keep in mind that big game developers also have been know to keep things under wraps due to release dates.
