Mockers Night #2 Redux #2
Posted by Blackstaffer in Clan: The Mockers, Game Night on March 13th, 2009
I have to think of a different way of naming my posts! Mockers Week? Mockers three-in-a-row? Oh I dunno.
Last night I only played for an hour with you guys but I still had a blast. First of all, thanks for getting killed by my Air Support. That thing is hard to get kills with, but at least five of you managed to sit in its crosshairs long enough last night. Or maybe you were just buttered up by someone else’s lead first. Either way, I got a ribbon for it, so thanks! Seven more to go!
Second, it looks like Ostrowalker’s problem was indeed his headset. He’d been playing a bit before our Mockers game started, and he had no problems. He put on the headset so that he could talk with us and BAM – problems. Any suggestions? Do you have to forward some ports? Does putting the PS3 in your router’s DMZ help? Anything?
Third, I turned off game balancing last night. Please don’t abuse this feature. For a while, it was five against three, which isn’t very fair. I turned off game balancing in case there was a situation like the night before where three good people were playing two not-so-good people. One person could switch sides and make the teams more even. Please try to play fair.
Fourth, it’s nice to see people starting to use squads. And I’m glad that I’m not the one that always has to create them! Once we have more people in each game, I think we can start thinking about moving about as a squad. But our games recently haven’t had enough people for that.
Fifth, I have a question. Do you guys like playing smaller games with just Mockers + friends? Personally, I like actually having some time to think and be able to actually pick up the propaganda speaker for once. In 32 player games, I don’t get a chance. Playing these smaller games gets me more ribbons. But I was wondering what you guys think? Would you prefer if I opened up the games to people who aren’t Mockers or friends to make them bigger?

Mockers Night #2 Redux
Posted by Blackstaffer in Clan: The Mockers, Game Night, Killzone 2 on March 12th, 2009
Last night we had a games night for Mockers + friends. A little while ago someone suggested making our Mockers nights available to our friends, so I’ve been password-protecting the games instead of making them Mockers-only. But so far only Tosh has joined us this way. (Someone asked what a non-Mocker was doing in the game. That was funny.)
Last night we played 3 full length games, and I had a blast. At one point we had ten of us playing, which is great. The last game only had five, and I have to say it was very unbalanced, so Trieloth and I can’t say we had a lot of fun.
Next time I’ll turn off team balancing so that people can switch sides easily to make the teams more fair. In the second-last game, somehow it ended up being 2 versus 4. So I switched sides to make it even.
What were the highlights of my evening? Besides getting more ribbons? Two things. Once, I killed two guys in a row with my gun. It doesn’t happen a lot to someone at my particular skill level. Second, I meleed two people to death, right after each other. That was a blast.
I wanna give props to the new people that joined us last night. However, I don’t remember who you were except for Fleakitten. Welcome to our games nights!
There are many Mockers that I never see online. If you’re a Mocker but don’t plan to play games with us, please ask me to resign you from the clan. I’d like to make room for others who do wish to play.
Are there any readers who are artists too? I think it would be cool if The Mockers had a logo. Maybe some guy or girl grinning while clenching a bullet in big teeth, or something. I dunno. Ideas?
Lastly, those of you who were playing last night probably noticed Ostrowalker popping in and out of the game. He was having connection issues. This seems to be a KZ2 only thing, as he can play Warhawk online just fine. Anyone have some suggestions?
P.S. Just because I’ve already posted a redux doesn’t mean we won’t be playing tonight! Remember that the password is mock789, and we’ll see you online tonight at 10pm EST. I post the password in the clan’s message of the day, for all of you that sent me PSN messages asking what the password is.
SNIKT! Berserker Rage!

Check out the new gameplay trailer below, it’s looking great! You can even deflect rockets with his claws! The graphics itself look amazing too. They are using the unreal engine. This seems to be shaping up to be the first TRUE Wolverine game. You can play stealthy or just go berserk and rip everyone apart.
Some highlights from the live chat, and there will be a demo at some point.
Wolverine doesn’t die — but he can fall unconscious — we’ve developed a system of “Health and Vitals” — your main health is represented by your skin and muscle layer — once that gets ripped away your “vitals” are exposed. If your vitals take enough damage then Wolverine will drop unconscious just like he does in the comics. It is AWESOME to see all the muscle and skin heal up in real time, it was a major focus on development early on
Wolverine’s claws come out when ever you attack — you can sheathe them, but that’s just for fun, because as fans we wanted to add that in. You heal whenever you aren’t taking damage.
Yes I’m a huge fan of Wolverine — the moment in the game I’m most proud of, the moment we said from the beginning we had to get in — was the fight with the Sentinel — he is a 200 foot tall mutant hunting robot and Wolverine has to fight him one on one! It is everything a Wolverine geek has always wanted. I also love the free fall fight with Agent Zero’s helicopters.
Someone not sure of buying this — this is not just a great movie game but a great action game — I KNOW people are going to think other action games feel sluggish once they try Wolverine. People are going to be begging to lunge at enemies from 40 feet away, wishing they could move as fast and smooth as Wolverine.
The enemy you saw is a “Goliath” if you do the “Quick Kill” move on him, you rip his arm off and beat him with it.
The other favorite “Quick Kill” in the game for me personally is when you force the enemy’s shotgun under his chin and …. blam!

Mockers Needs Officers
Posted by Blackstaffer in Clan: The Mockers, Game Night on March 11th, 2009
Hello everyone. First of all a big thank-you to everyone who joined our game session last night. It was a short one with two rounds of play, which is just fine. Tonight we’ll be able to play for longer, so that’ll be nice too!
Right now my best playing time is during the week. So I need someone to help with the Mockers in general but also to arrange games on the weekends. This would entail putting up clan messages in the game, and also posting articles here (I’d give you the correct permissions to allow you to post here). These articles would be to arrange games night on weekends, similar to this post. It also involves discussing the games a bit afterward, because that’s always fun.
You don’t have to be a good player to be an officer. You just have to be be willing to post and to talk about games and to play a lot! Of course, you also have to create games, so you have to know how to create and edit games, add passwords, etc.
Of course, the officer position is only open to clan members.
