God Of War III Survey – No confirmation about old GOW games on Blu-ray |

Sony responded about the options in the recent GOW III survey. A lot of people got excited that Sony may be bringing back backward compatibility. But alas this may not be true.

“It is simply a marketing survey. The goal of it is to do focus group testing. We’re just trying to find out what would resonate with the God of War community.”

If that was the number one requested thing, that would be something that they would need to see if that was most technically feasible. Obviously with Blu-ray, we’re able to put more content on the disc. But in terms of having seen God of War II on a Blu-ray disc on a debug and playing it that way, no, that’s not something I’ve seen.

I hope they figure out a way to do that. It would be the ultimate collectors edition. I have a original launch PS3 (60 GB version), and I love everything about it. I wouldn’t be as happy with a newer PS3 unit honestly. I use all 4 USB slots, 2 is not enough for me. Plus I use the card readers all the time for looking at photos and backing up game saves.

Sony: Survey is just a survey, no confirmation on Blu-ray God of War II

GOW needs release date… if they put out collecters edtion…. I’ll buy…. just come out with the game already!

That would be an amazing collectors edition! Although I already have every God of War game and a b/c 80G PS3 so I’m fine with it. I wouldn’t mind a God of War t-shirt though, as long as they make it look badass which I wouldn’t doubt. They should also see if they could somehow get GoW:CoO for the ps3 via PS Store. Oh and by the way I use all of the USB slots too, I don’t know how people can only use 2.

you guys making be look bad…. I got 4 port… but only use 2 !

  • Here is my USB slot usage:

    Cable to charge DualShock 3
    Cable to charge bluetooth headset
USB Hard drive to back up PS3.

Plus I have a Arcade Stick for Tekken, so I actually have to unplug a USB cable to plug that in. So I need 5! lol

I do have a keyboard, but it’s bluetooth.

This backs up the original thought I had when I saw the bit about GOW1/2 in a box set. There was no way that a PS3 port was going to happen in the few short months till GOW/ release if the choice hadn’t been made many months ago. This was pure market research to see how strong of a market there was for a GOW1/2 port. I think a seed was planted, hopefully it will bear fruit.

From playing CoO hooked to the TV it would be great, but the emulation could pretty daunting.

Tosh . Plugging and unplugging a USB port is not a hardship. Also it’s USB. If it’s standard USB you should be able to daisy chain 127 devices on it. Theoretically. Powerdrain would kill it though.
I like the USB backup hard drive idea. I’m getting close to my 80 gig limit.

Buy a powered USB hub for your recharging. Try using a iPod wall plug in charger to recharge your Dualshock. It has a USB out. Just plug in the charge cable and plug it into a wall. Just remember to take the charger out of the plug. It stilldraws some current “Vampire current” even when not in use.
