Shatter, a PSN Game by Sidhe
Sidhe interactive, a developer out of New Zealand has come to offer us PS3 fans what looks to be another great shooter in the shadows of Everyday Shooter, Blast Factor, Nucleus and Super Stardust HD.

According to IGN…here are some facts about the game.
-Innovative controls, physics effects, power-ups, special attacks, and boss battles which combine to provide an experience that is always interactive
-Standard, Boss Rush and Bonus game modes enhanced with leaderboards and trophies
-Vibrant 3D style presented across 10 distinct worlds in 4xAA 60fps HD
-A fully scored soundtrack featuring more than 90 minutes of original music

What do you guys think? It looks like it going to mix up some classic gaming shooter types all in one game.
I personally was a huge fan of Super Stardust HD, especially after the trophies were implemented. I still need to get a few of the harder ones. I’m absolutely looking forward to more games like this in the future.

April 2009 Hardware Sales
Posted by Darrin in Sales Data on May 14th, 2009

- 360 outsold PS3 by 48K in the US, yet the PS3 outsold the 360 by 93,052 in Japan putting PS3 ahead by the month by 45,052 for the combined US+Japan regions (we don’t have good sales data on other regions). Which system needs a price drop?
- PS3 sold almost exactly the same for the month in Japan and the US despite the US being a much larger market.
- Obviously, the new Nintendo DSi model had a fantastic launch and really dominated the sales charts for the month.
- Both Wii and PSP have had dramatic sales drops from this time last year. The Wii sold less than half of what it did in April 2008 and the PSP’s drop was only slightly less steep.

PS3 Slimline Spyshots
Sony predictably denies these.

From member ehandlr:
- The port access in the rear panel matches up perfectly to the current motherboard design. This doesn’t prove anything…but its of interest.
- The leaks come from Maintek Computer located in Suzhou, China who does manufacture PS3’s. The company issued a cease and desist order on the the chinese website that first posted the images.
- PSP-3000 leaked from the same manufacturer 3 weeks before it was announced. It is almost exactly 3 weeks until E3 as it is now.
- Last a NeoGaf inside source known as “Sin”, who has given exact information on previous Sony annoucnments previously has stated this is true and they are looking at a September release
The final slimline model may look nothing like these prototype shots and I’m not expecting an E3 announcement but I am convinced that these are real and a slimline PS3 model is in active development.
To review:
- Both CPU and GPU have already switched from 90nm tech to 65nm tech and 45nm tech should be in mass production this year.
- Current PS3 motherboards are 2/3 the size of the original motherboard. New revisions will get smaller.
- Current PS3 units use much less, much smaller, and much cheaper cooling apparatus since the electronics is generating less heat. This will continue with the move to 45nm tech.
- The PS3 still uses large, full size blu-ray drives, while much smaller lighter blu-ray drives are widely used in new laptops.

Echochrome get PSEye and YouTube support
Posted by Tosh in echochrome on May 14th, 2009

Man I haven’t played this game for a while, lol. I still need to finish it. Anyway, a upcoming patch for echochrome will enable your to record yourself while playing the game. It will save the video to your hard drive. Then you can upload it to YouTube.
Installing the patch will allow you to watch yourself play the game via an in-set window at the corner of the screen.
I can’t imagine those videos will be very exciting. Unless you get people that get mad at the game, lol. The patch is only announced for Japan at the moment. But I’m sure the rest of us will get it soon enough.
Zen Pinball first game to get in game video chat?
Posted by Tosh in PlayStation Eye, PS3, Zen Pinball on May 14th, 2009

The screenshot below shows the features of Zen Pinball. So will this be the first game to feature this? If true it seems to be only game specific. But if it did become a OS based feature in the future would you use it? I personally like the text chat room a lot, it’s very handy. The game is out today so let us know if it’s true or not. But one has to wonder if the firmware update last night had anything to do with it.
