Most Exciting Press Conference: Tie between Microsoft and Sony
Best Console Lineup for 2009: Sony. Both White Knight and Heavy Rain have been delayed to 2010, but they still win.
Best Trailer: Gran Turismo 5. I’m not even a sim-fanatic but those trailers are just awesome
Best Surprise of the Show: Rockstar North’s Agent
Best Game of the Show: There is so much that I’m excited for, but I couldn’t pick one. Red Dead Redemption is probably my most eagerly anticipated ’09 title and it wasn’t really at the show.
Biggest Disappointment or Omission: No big disappointment.

Most Exciting Press Conference: Sony for sure, MS get points for effort
Best Console Lineup for 2009: Sony. R&C and Uncharted 2, then weve already had KZ2 and inFamous, whilst X360 has had no exclusives so far and SC:Conviction, Halo 3 and L4D2, of which only SC:Conviction is going to be new and fresh.
Best Trailer: The Last Guardian, a tough one, but since its the first official look at it, and the graphics are quite noticeably improved from the leak, not to mention it looks completely amazing.
Best Surprise of the Show: Final Fantasy 14, I dont think anyone was expecting that
Best Game of the Show: I dont think theres been a single stand out game for me, but Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain are the best two games I think.
Biggest Disappointment or Omission: Nintendo’s show, a bunch of sequels, which will all be great, but nothing new, no development of the console no nothing. They just seem to be resting on their laurels publicly.

I didn’t watch all the press conferences etc. so I can’t really compare but Sony’s lineup is very exciting.
Biggest surprise: FFXIV
Biggest Disappointment or Omission: Still no PS3 price cut. The lineup is great but it’s still not going to sell a console at the wrong price point.

Best Trailer – For me…it was FFXIV
Best Surprise of the Show – again FFXIV
Best Game of the Show – Sigh…FFXIV
Biggest Disappointment or Omission – No FFXIII Versus

Best Game of the Show: Uncharted 2
Biggest Disappointment or Omission: No Slim PS3 or price cut.

Best Console Lineup for 2009: Sony

Most Exciting Press Conference: Microsoft had a more polished and spectacular conference, but the content was far more exciting in Sony’s conference.
Best Console Lineup for 2009: Sony. I don’t even know where I’m going to find the time to play all those games.
Best Trailer: Rock Band Beattle. Nothing new, but still very well done trailer.
Best Surprise of the Show: I would have to give a tie between Natal and ModNation Racer for me.
Best Game of the Show: Uncharted 2
Biggest Disappointment or Omission: No release date for GT5.

Most Exciting Press Conference: Microsoft. Beatles, Spielberg. Star Power Galore and most likely to get a mention on the 6 O’clock news.
Best Console Lineup for 2009: Sony. Hands down. Uncharted 2, But far too many titles are 2010,
Best Trailer: Trico, TLG. If you don’t feel something the first time you realize that the red on the feathers is blood. You sir, have no soul. Second up is The Old republic. Better than Episodes 1-3 combined,
Best Surprise of the Show: Natal. The geek in me thinks this could be great. The realist in me says it’s a Microsoft product. I’d believe it more if it was Steve jobs presenting it. I believe Sony when they ay they will ship a working version of their controller.
Best Game of the Show: Trico. Just the sound of the wind in the trailer made me remember playing the game all over again.
Biggest Disappointment or Omission: Not enough JRPG’s shown and too many Sony big titles moved to 2010. Jan March 2010 is going to be hard on the pocketbook. Sony really need to get Level 5 working on a Dark Cloud. And pay whatever money they need to to get the Studio Ghibli RPG’s onto the PS3 or PSP.

Best Game of the Show: God of War 3
Biggest Disappointment or Omission: Metal Gear Rising on the threesixzero

Most Exciting Press Conference – Sony and MS Tie
Best Console Lineup for 2009 – Sony PS3
Best Trailer – Uncharted 2
Best Surprise of the Show – FFXIV
Best Game of the Show – God of War 3
Biggest Disappointment or Omission – No big disappointments for me really. But I do wish they had real games to show with the new motion tech for PS3 and not just tech demos.

Most Exciting Press Conference – Sony, there was a lot of pressure on them to produce after microsoft’s and i really like their approach to showing only exclusives (- AC2) and joking about the leaks.
Best Console Lineup for 2009 – Sony, GT5 looks incredible and Uncharted 2 is looking GOTY quality.
Best Trailer – The Last Guardian.
Best Surprise of the Show – a tie between The Agent and how good the PSP lineup is looking.
Best Game of the Show – Uncharted 2. Now it has MPO it looks the most complete game out there.
Biggest Disappointment or Omission – No firm details about MGS Rising.

Most Exciting Press Conference
Sony. MS’s only thing they had going was Project Natal, but I feel that that isn’t such a big deal
Best Console Lineup for 2009
Definitely Sony.Too many AAA first party titles
Best Trailer
Probably GT5
Best Surprise of the Show
Toss up between Agent exclusivity and FFXIV. Agent because of it being developed by R* North, the guys who did GTA games and sold out to M$ for exclusive DLC for GTAIV. Just wish they had more details, nice to see it set in the ’70s though. FFXIV because FFXIII isn’t even out yet and this one came out of nowhere.
Best Game of the Show
God of War III, obviously. Heavy Rain would be second because it’s seriously got one of the coolest off-beat style of gameplay and a story that seems to promise a lot and have a lot of twists and moral choices. Definitely looking forward to the different ways the game would play out by making different decisions. Remember those choose your own adventure books?
Biggest Disappointment or Omission
Biggest disappointment would probably have to be no price cut for PS3. Would love to have more folks playing on the PS3 so we can get some better deals with publishers and exclusive content. Another disappointment was lack of details and at least screenshots of Agent

Most Exciting Press Conference – Sony, since it was the only conference I watched.
Best Console Lineup for 2009 -Sony, Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank, Demon’s Soul. Plus the PSP lineup for the rest of the year is looking good too.
Best Trailer – FFXIII, finally got to see the ‘female Sephiroth’ I’ve heard about.
Best Surprise of the Show -FFXIV, I think SE needs to start making subtitles before they reach FFXXX .
Best Game of the Show – Uncharted 2.
Biggest Disappointment or Omission – No WKC this year and no FFXIII Versus info at all.

Most Exciting Press Conference: IF pacing it is, I must say MS… but only because the PS2 and PSP stuff dragged on for too long on Sonys side!
(show energy and pacing, not game quality)
Best Console Lineup for 2009: No question asked, Sony PS3 and PSP!
Best Trailer: Last Guardian
Best Surprise of the Show: Motion Sensor and RE PSP on Sonys side
Best Game of the Show: Uncharted 2
Biggest Disappointment or Omission: No GT5 in any other form than a trailer
#16 by Darjeeling on June 7th, 2009

Best Console Lineup for 2009: Sony
Best Trailer: Uncharted 2
Best Surprise of the Show: Rockstar North’s ‘Agent’

#17 by grandmasboy on June 7th, 2009

Best Console Lineup for 2009: PSP
Best Trailer: Gran Tourismo 5, finally a bit of damage modelling.
Best Surprise of the Show: Gran Tourismo PSP, I hope they release that soon.
Best Game of the Show: Final Fantasy for PS3
Biggest Disappointment or Omission: I wasn’t too keen on the new motion controllers; get rid of the colored balls!
