Open Remote Play Broken by PS3 Firmware 2.80
Posted by T0SH in Open Remote Play on June 24th, 2009
I was finally going to try it out this morning too.. Ah, well. Did any of you try it? Seemed like a great program. Hopefully they are able to work around it. But if you haven’t updated to firmware 2.80, at the moment it isn’t forcing you to update.
Sony has also put a damper on Open Remote Play. Those tricky bastards have seemingly “poisoned” the video stream… If you start the ORP client and establish a Remote Play connection, you’ll notice the video quickly becomes garbled nonsense and eventually the client bails. The good news — you can still make the connection, meaning the authentication hasn’t changed any…
PSP Go Release Date October 5th

PSP Go now has an official release date of 10/5 in North America. Pretty much every country will be releasing around this day. The video I posted below shows a really good hands on of various games and you can imagine how it might feel to hold one.
The line-up of the PSP just keeps getting more and more impressive as time goes along. Just to name a few off the top of my head:
Assasins Creed Bloodlines
Cardboad Senki
Class of Heroes
Crimson Gem Saga
Disgaea 2 Dark Hero
Echochrono
Fat Princess
Final Fantasy Agito XIII
Final Fantasy Dissidia
Gran Turismo
Jak and Daxter
Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep
Little Big Planet
Lunar Harmony of Silver Star
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker
Monster Hunter Freedom 3
Motorstorm Artic Edge
Parasite Eve 3rd Birthday
Persona
Pixel Junk Monsters Deluxe
Resident Evil PSP
Silent Hill Shattered Memories
Soul Calibur
Tales of Versus
Tekken 6
Ushiro
I know the price point of $250 is a little out there, but I think I’ll be picking one up opening day.
PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.80 Coming Soon? [Update: Now Live]
Posted by T0SH in Firmware Updates, PS3 on June 23rd, 2009
The guys over at TheGamerAccess.com, was looking at the SCEA press site and found this – PS3 Debug Firmware Update 2.80. But nothing comes up when he clicked it. Matt Furtado @ examiner.com says this:
There are a few fixes to increase performance such as faster Trophy synchronization and faster XMB loads.
The update will have one new feature PS3 owners wants. Sadly, it won’t be immediately useful to us.
Mmm, wonder what that might be. Any thoughts?
Tekken 6 Campaign Mode in Action
Looks much better than previous Campaign Modes in past Tekken games. Online co-op is great! They said about 10 hours of gameplay, not bad at all actually. Looks fun to me.
GTA ChinaTown Wars confirmed for PSP
Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be released for PSP this autumn on UMD and via PlayStation Network. Excited anyone?
