but the video quality usually depends on your connection speed, and even then, most netflix streaming is only going to get as good as DVD quality, if that (for now anyway)

I'm sure this is politics & licensing rather than technology. Netflix probably agreed to a console exclusive deal with Microsoft.

Personally, I am happy with Roku: super small $100 box with WiFi that does both Netflix streaming and Amazon OnDemand.

I use it on my PC which is connected to the same TV as my PS3 lol. With the 360, you have to build a list on your computer first, adding them to the watch instantly queue. Only thing is, their watch instantly movies aren't as numerous as the DVD releases (of course) and it's mostly older movies that are available (Starz Play would have a few new(er) releases every now and then). But I still rent physical media to watch movies on blu-ray and stuff. Only thing I'd like to see if PS3 got Netflix support would be the ability to add movies to the Queue from the PS3 rather than a computer (you, you can do that from the web browser now anyway).

I'm glad we have services like Netflix and Gamefly, and with more and more distribution centers opening up, turn-around is really good (except titles on long or very long wait). Send a movie out on Wednesday, get your next one on Friday. Netflix has theirs all over the place, but Gamefly only has about 4 right now, so it could potentially be a slightly longer wait, but I'm fine with that, don't have a lot of time to play games, hence why I also like the no late fee deal.
