An Advertisement that looks true

Okay, Joystiq reported to have gotten an ad from Hastings which looks to be true. 160 Gig ps3 going down 100$ and phasing out the 80 gig, sounds about right. So please tell me, do you think the slim is real or is this Ad fake as well?

that’s not a slim its just a price cut?

I believe its too early for a “slim” product. This looks more legit, but what is going to take 300$ price thats been thrown around, it may be the slim, or just the regular 80 gig.

This is very believable, but boring. Almost no one bought the old $499 SKU anyway…

The only interesting thing is this lends even more credibility to a SKU change and a more interesting price drop.

it’s probably for the pre-launch of the new SKU (if there is one) to phase this one out, but can’t cut the price too much because the retailers would lose money on the systems themselves. Probably their way of clearing stock while making some money off of them. Better than sending them back to the manufacturer anyway. Then again, it may just be a store-specific sale and not based on an MSRP

I have seen some signage at Hastings here in texas where I live, so the sale is legit. Should have taken my camera.
