Wished your PS3 pad was more like a 360s?

Then wish no more thanks to the Mad Catz Modern Warfare 2 Controllers. Check out their full range here with some rather neat looking throat head sets ;

As you can see on the IGN video their PS3 pads are very similar to the Xbox design with triggers and even lime green colours. I think its a good idea as gamers will always prefer the design of one pad over another but i can’t see any Xbox pads mimicking the PS3′s. Interestingly I can see some PC pads resembling PS2 designs…

    Wish I could watch the video
    If you’re saying that the ps3 version of the mw2 pad is like the 360 controller, then I’ll probably end up buying one. The biggest things I liked about the 360 pad was the left analog stick placement and the triggers (not so much the bumpers).
    I bought Real Triggers because of this. My fingers slide off of L2/R2 without them

    No, not ever.

    I do like the feel of the 360 pad generally, but it has those god-awful wonky sticks, left one higher than the right. For me, it’s uncomfortable and distracting. I hated it on my Xbox and Gamecube. I don’t have lopsided hands, so I don’t want lopsided sticks.

    Symmetry is the best solution, and why – for me – the SIXAXIS/DualShock3 design has always been, continues to be, and (possibly) always will be the best controller ever devised.

    The left and right ‘bumper’ buttons are also too small for me on the 360 pad. The ‘proper’ triggers are nice, but nothing that can’t be had on the SIXAXIS/DualShock3 with a set of the awesome RealTriggers.

    Can’t see the thumbnail on this site, but looked at the one on ps3fanboy and all of the ps3 ones like like the analog sticks are in the same place.

    I’ll just stick with my RealTriggered-FPS Freek’d-Dual Shock 3 :)

    Ps3 controllers are superior

    They really shat on PS3 players. No rumble, crappy D-pad, and no extra buttons on bottom.

    I do prefer the 360 controller a great deal, but oddly I’d rather use a PS3 controller how it is on a PS3. The idea of mixing and matching styles for some reason doesn’t appeal to me… maybe it’s the name MadCatz on the controller. Brings back memories of the terrible controllers that would break immediately on my Genesis. Makes me want to look for a “turbo fire” toggle.

    Huh, interesting stance! I’ve never though of how the the thumb sticks are unlevel on the 360. But I think the idea of symmetry might not catch on to far. Here’s why the 360 controller works (for most folks). When you’re playing, you’re primary movement stick is the left stick. You want that easy to get to and right out in front. On the 360 it’s the first thing you come to and it’s within easy reach of my thumb. The PS3 on the other hand has the D-pad in that spot… which I rarely need or use. It’s in the primary spot if you will, and I feel I have to reach in somewhat to get to the symmetrical primary stick on the DualShock. It might mess with your head, but from a game playing mechanic it makes more sense to me.

    And it’s weird that you say the 360 has buttons that are too small. I just compared the PS3 and 360 and the buttons seem to be almost identical in size… only the 360 buttons pop out a bit.

    The one thing that would make the DS3′s better for me would be concave analog sticks. I think that is why I like the FPS Freek so much. It adds a little height for leverage, but it also gives the PS3 analog stick a concave surface :)

    I really am not trying to sell the FPS Freek :)
