Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy | PS3Blog.net

Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy is a non-profit film made by Hive Division, a collective of Italian students and young filmmakers. I just finished watching this film the other day and I have to say for a “no-budget” film it was amazing. If you are a fan of the Metal Gear Solid series i suggest you check this film out. Also the film has its own OST which is also amazing, so be sure to check them out Here. You can download or stream the movie from the website as well.

I watched it last night, very well done for being a no-budget film! Can’t wait to see the other 2 parts. The guy who did snake’s voice did a great job.

Kinda annoying that they havent started the other two parts.

  3. I got it downloaded and got the OST too. I hope to watch it this weekend. Thanks for posting this btw 😀

@DC: yeah, but also keep in mind that it is a no budget series! I’d like to see them submit the entire trilogy to a film festival or something (and give it a DVD release) once all parts are completed. I’d love to see a MGS movie with a Hollywood budget and a director and producer who are familiar with the games and storyline (Hideo Kojima could totally do this). Question is, when/where will it take place? The Philanthropy story here was a great idea for sure, but maybe for a full on movie, could it take place between MGS2 and 4?

If you read in their FAQs on the site it says that Philanthropy is alternative history to MGS2 and it can be placed after the first episode and before the fourth one.

I’d place it more in between the first and second, storyline wise. Philanthropy was, I believe, disbanded after Snake was thought to have been killed on the tanker in MGS2. This video seems to be more in line with Philanthropy already to have made a name for itself, but wasn’t to the point to where it was in MGS2. I think it would make more sense for it to be before 2, though. Ah well.
