yeah, but the system they use is a bit flawed IMO, because it doesn't really allow for true expression due to the limitations it does present. That's my biggest gripe with their visual customization, other games do a much better job at it.

The visual customization system allows players to personalize both the exterior and trick out the interior to reflect their individual style and preferences.

I guess that having not played a game with vinyls before, I guess it is the old "ignorance is bliss type deal..."

As for the AI, I just wish there was less destruction derby on some corners, and that when you pass cleanly, the computer recognizes that and adjusts their line.

I never really had that much of an issue with the AI, but I have seen it make a couple mistakes like taking a corner too fast on a 1 on 1 race, but then again, even I do that sometimes lol.

but the vinyl system still sucks immensely. Have you ever played Midnight Club: LA? Their vinyl setup is about 100x better lol. Plus, it allows you to copy as many layers as you need to the other side of the car, keeping their placement and everything as well (usually only thing you'll need to change are the skew settings if you messed with those) but the negative about their vinyl setup there's a faint visible border around some the shapes. Forza, so far, still has the best. Here's an example of vinyls for each game:

Forza 2: http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb174/ONI_23/B_Detail.jpg
all done with standard shapes and gradients

here's one with a custom ghostbusters logo on Midnight Club: LA:

I have a full racing rig and the FF is pretty good, no better or worse than GT. The thing I love about this game is the progression and the fact that you are not turning lap after lap to earn enough money to get a necessary car.

Having never played Forza, I like the vinyl setup, although I wish they had an option to do both sides of the car at once. GTurismo really needs this as an option. Getting a new car, and decking it out in your livery appeals to the LBP lover in me. Odd crossover, but making a level is kind of akin to designing a car.

My major complaint with the game is the computer driver AI. On some of the tighter tracks, they have no sense of where the other cars are. On the DB9 track in London, there is a hard right left corner right after the start. The first two or three cars make it through, but there is a pileup as all the other cars smash their way through the corner, holding you up. On many occasions, you will go to make a legitimate pass and the computer will try to steal your line and side swipe you into the dirt. I cant count the number of races that I have had to restart b/c of lousy AI.

Other than that, I agree with your review. The sense of speed is great, and the in cockpit view rivals GT.

Darrin, at this point, the track variety is why you would buy this game. If you have played as much Prologue as I have, you get a bit bored of those tracks. There is no doubt that GT will replace this game in my PS3 the second it comes out, but for now is a refreshing change to what Prologue offers.
