Assassin’s Creed: Lineage Part 1

I’m surprised this didn’t get posted on here yet. Anyway, Lineage is a prequel to the upcoming game Assassin’s Creed II, following the story behind Ezio’s (the main character of ACII) father, Giovanni Auditiore de Firenze. The plot is as follows (from Wikipedia):

Giovanni is an assassin living during the Renaissance in 15th century Italy. At this dawn of a new era, a conspiracy is being plotted by one corrupted family to overthrow the powerful Medici family and destroy an unified Italy. As an assassin, Giovanni must face this threat and bring justice.

The short movie itself has an art style similar to 300 in a way. The actors (who did actual voice work and motion capture for the game) performed on a green screen (at Hybride Technologies, where 300 and Sin City had their green screen work done, which had been acquired by Ubisoft in 2008), and all the assets in the film were apparently directly from the game, with a few set pieces here and there that had a few tweaks done to their geometry and had a little texture work. It’s looking pretty good and can’t wait for the future parts.

lol, I know, right? And don’t forget about Assassin’s Creed Bloodlines on PSP is also in development!

I guess to get the full story, you’d have to play the first one, then Bloodlines on PSP (since it bridges the story between the first and second AC), then watch these short movies, and finally play ACII
