Seen any ads for Ubisoft’s upcoming sequel, Assassin’s Creed 2? If so, then they’ve most likely been for the PS3. According to Game Industry, Sony and Ubisoft have inked an advertising deal for Assassin’s Creed 2.
Guillemot ( Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot) also revealed that a deal was signed at the beginning of 2009 with Sony on marketing of Assassin’s Creed II, which will see TV adverts relating only to the PlayStation edition of the game – an agreement that will see more activity “than would have been possible otherwise,” he added.
In years past multi-platform games ( Devil May Cry 4 and Grand Theft Auto 4 are two that come to my mind) on the 360 were the advertising choice. Now it looks like the tide may be turning. Is Sony finally stepping up their advertising game or are publishers more willing to take a chance with the PlayStation 3 now that the install base between the two HD systems is narrowing?
