Gran Turismo 5 Production Car Damage

It was announced that racing spec cars and production cars would feature different damage models in the upcoming Gran Turismo 5. We’ve all seen the Subaru’s damage model with bumpers and doors falling off but what about the production cars? Well in the video above you can see a Lamborghini Gallardo get some nasty scratch marks after some truely awful driving. The brief glimpse can be seen at the end of the video.

The more I see of GT5 the more I’m thinking other driving games have caught up, and even over taken (pun?) in terms of looks, damage, #cars, #tracks…I’m not sure it’ll be the day 1 purchase it would have been had it been released a year ago.

Au Contraire Andy. This game is and always will be the game all others are compared too. This game has to bear the burden of being the leader. Every reviewer will talk about it’s warts when comparing it to other games while giving short shrift to it’s better aspects. I could care less about real car damage. Just as I could care less about photo realistic RPG’s. How does photo realistic pimple modeling help the game?
Thought I would pay extra for a car customization option to do my own paint job. But that is not for everyone.
