Blue Toad Murder Files coming to PSN 3/25/10 |

Blue Toad Murder Files: The Mysteries of Little Riddle, is a  six-episode murder mystery / puzzle game, made exclusively for PSN. It is a single player, or up to a four player co-operative game set in the English village of Little Riddle. The main plot is to follow clues to discover a murderer.  There are many different and challenging puzzles to help you on your way to discovering the muderer in Little Riddle.

Blue Toad Murder Files: The Mysteries of Little Riddle was created by the developers of the game Buzz! The game will feature six seperate downloadable episodes. The first three are being released on the PSN on March 25th. They will be $7.49 each or $14.99 for all three. The official website says that episode three will be available for free between Feb. 25th and March 25th. I’m assuming it is just for the EU Store as the release date for the US is March 25th. This game’s first two episodes were released in Europe back in December.

The game promises “a thrilling cliff hanger at the end of every episode,” with “over 90 puzzles, Whodunnits and cross-examinations,” through the six episodes. The co-op might be fun, however I have no idea how it would even work in a puzzle game. The game looks entertaining enough for me to pick up at least the first episode. One complaint I have heard is that there is very little re-playabilty in the game. Since it has been out in Europe for a couple months, there are sure to be reviews around the web. Has anyone here on played it yet? What are your opinions of the game?

EU store has episode 3 on Feb 25th.. US has all three on March 25th.. that was my issue 😎

actually i have no idea about the gameplay xD
heard near to nothing about this game, only saw it once in the PSN Store.

ah, btw. episode 3 is free, but you need episode 1 to play it 😉

    afaik ep4-6 will released together.

    I have played episode 1 and 2.

First of all, there is really no reason to play it more than once except for trophy hunting. The game is told as a crime story interrupted with timed puzzles that are for th most part actually alright. But the solution to a given puzzle is always the same also the second time you play it through.

There’s quite a bit of humor in the game, and it is fun, but nothing you really need to revisit.

The first episode sees you trying to solve a murder, but there is no blood or violence, so younger teens will probably also have a bit of fun playing it.

I believe that an episode lasts about half an hour to 45 minutes depending on how long it takes for you to solve the puzzles.

If the third episode is free then I’ll definitely download it, but if it costs money I’m not so sure. Blue Toad Murder Files is a decent puzzle-game-with-a-story but I definitely much prefer the Professor Layton games for the Nintendo DS.
