5 Year Anniversary of PS3Blog.net!

And now the real reason for the mysterious countdown. The 5 Year Anniversary of PS3Blog.net!

This blog was started 5 years ago by Henning Hoffmann. First off I want to thank him for starting this great blog. When I first started searching for PS3 Blogs to follow back in 2005, I came across this site. I put it on my iGoogle home page. Over the course of a couple months it earned the top center spot of sites I follow. I just preferred the community here over all the others. I first started to post news for the blog on January 12th, 2007. I took over management of the site on May 11th, 2009.

The blog has gone threw several design changes over the years. These are the 2 main designs other than the current one used in the past 5 years.

Here are some fun stats that happened over the past 5 years.

4,801 Posts
27,568 Comments
323501 Spam Caught
3,242,381 Pageviews
9,489 Live Chat Messages

If you could, please comment how you first came across PS3Blog.net and why you like the site.

I came across this site doing some random searches on google. I also became a regular overtime enjoying making comments and the community.

After a few responses/answers whatever, I was asked by Tosh if I was interested in being a co-writer. So here I am today and enjoying it more and more.

I came around here way back in ’05 but didnt really become active until last year I think. Since registration didn’t work, I posted comments as a guest. In fact, here is my first ever comment from April 15, 2006:

Apparently, I have 975 comments in all (including my guest posts). I can’t figure out which comment was my first after registration, but if the #781 is this one, then this is it:

here’s my first-ever story, which was actually posted before the above comment, so IDK:

I came here for a contest and stayed for the content :)

I had been coming here on and off for quite a while, mainly to look at the PNS updates from work. I joined for the Pyramid contest Tosh had, and then stayed for the content and friendships I had made. I began writing about 3 weeks ago and have been loving it ever since.

Personally, I wanted to write here because I enjoy games so much, and I felt like all the game news and journalism sites of the day were Xbox/PC centric and the great PlayStation centric games and dev studios just didn’t get the coverage and appreciation they deserved.

Anyway, this site is great, Tosh definitely re-energized it when he took over and added some much needed new quality writers. I can’t believe it’s been five years already!

5 YEARS, WOW, where has the time gone.

I have been on here since the beginning pretty much. Henning would write a story or two and eventually he added some more writers. It has definitely grown and improved over the years.

I have it as one of the sites on my homepage. Makes it easy to see what is new and if I want to read more.

Keep up the good work guys!

I found about PS3blog.net when I was googling desperately for PS3 information, I was surprised there wasn’t many around but Ps3blog.net really catered to my needs, with its down-to-earth, friendly, independent, non-fanboyish nature. It was not anything like the others. I began posting with my name without registering, actually I guess it was not possible to register at all in the beginning, or am I just plain wrong? I wonder what my first comment was..

I found this website before the ps3 was released. I was looking for info on the ps3 before it was lauched so I knew what I was getting before I bought it. I was going to buy it no matter what, but I still needed to know. This website has been great just for that very reason.. My 1st 2 on my friends list was xserber & blackstaffer (sorry I spelled that wrong tosh) and that was 11/16 or 19th 2006

Well, I’m new to the site because I’m a new PS3 owner and I got my console (a 120 GB Slim) at the end of 2009.

All in all I have nothing but good things to say about the site, so let’s hope it’s here for many years ahead.

Actually just found this site last night, but, after seeing the previous designs I do remember visiting here a time or two over the years for information results.

Glad I found it again, i’ll be around for a while :)
