According to Kotaku it’s thanks to all the Beta testers. Next to submitting more then a thousand bugs, the Beta testers called for four player split screen. Now we get it, I know a lot of people will be happy about it, not in the least our very
own BlackStaffer.
Four player split screen was a standard feature about a decade ago. With the next gen consoles it got scratched, because of the “Everyone has an internet connection at home, so you should use that instead” mentality. I for one am not such a person. Everyone on this site knows I don’t game online too much. I do find it fun to play a game with a friend at my place. That’s why I own games like SingStar and Buzz, they offer great group value.
To those that were in the Beta and requested this feature: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I would not have bought the game without four player splitscreen, so I’m happy.

@FleaKitten
Thanks
@Hobbes
It’s looking very good, I wasn’t in the beta, but it really appeals to me for some reason.

A decade + ago, the majority of us were splitting our 20-30 inch screen TVs to play Mario Kart or whatever…
It only makes sense that we start splitting our 40-50 inch screen HD TVs into 4!
Increased viewing area ftw…
