Blu-ray Releases for the Week of 3.22.10 |

Sorry I’m late again, busy week. First off, Fantastic Mr. Fox is a great movie. I talked to several friends and family about this movie and none of them saw it! One said the stop motion just looked odd. I’ll admit it has a different look, but it also gives it a certain charm. The story is rich and entertaining to adults and children alike. A lot of care went into the crafting of this film, and it is visible in every scene. Fantastic Fox is sure to delight and leave you laughing as well. I’m picking it up along with Ponyo today. I want to watch Ponyo with the Japanese audio and English subs. It bugs me when they say Ponyo wrong, they say it PAN-YO, instead of Ponyo, but that may just be me. You can also pick up the first 2 Toy Story movies, but I’d imagine there will be a Blu-ray set with all 3 movies later this year.

Here are the Blu-ray titles for this week. Highlights are: Fantastic Mr. Fox, Toy Story 1 & 2, The Blind Side, Mad Men: Season 3, The African Queen, The Men Who Stare At Goats, Yojimbo & Sanjuro.

  • Going to pick up the Toy Stories I think.. Target here locayl has em for $22 each with $10 off if you buy them both..

  • submit happy.. lol.. I will probably also pick up Fantastic Mr. Fox, as all the reviews I have read are really good , and you seem to agree. Hopefully the kids will enjoy it 😎

  • EdEN

Well, Toy Story 1 and 2 for me. I’ve been buying every Disney/Pixar cartoon released on Bluray in part to relieve my childhood memories and in part to start my families Disney BR collection for my future offspring. In the meantime my two godsons get a kick out of them…

  • @EdEN You should take a serious look at Studio Ghibli movies. A great one to start the kids out on is Ponyo or My Neighbor Totoro.

  • EdEN

I’m basically waiting for a Ghibli Bluray boxset. Maybe Disney will step up?

  • @eden I would love to see a massive Ghibli Blu-ray boxset. But disney ruined Totoro though …. they cut stuff from the film!
