New 250GB SKU Now Includes LBP:GOTY and HDMI Cable |

It was a long time coming, and something that many folks have complained about since the console’s launch, but it appears the 250GB SKU will start coming packed with a 6 foot HDMI cable and a copy of LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year edition. The price for the entire bundle? It’s still $349.99. Well worth the cost, considering you’re getting twice the storage space of the 120GB Slim, as well as a free HDMI cable and a game. You do the math.

The bundle hasn’t been officially announced yet, but there is at least one (unnamed) retailer who has units ready to sell and is awaiting an official announcement apparently (my understanding from the source anyway). Possible E3 announcement? Could be, but it’d be a better one if all SKUs had the game and cable included.

  • The stink created a while back over the lack of HDMI was out of proportion. That said, it’s good that Sony’s fixing this.

When I got my PS3 in March I got a free copy of Uncharted 2, free HDMI cables, a Sony Walkman MP3 player and a $20 PSN Card along with my 120 GB Slim.

I called my local Gamestop the other day looking for a PS3 slim, and lady said she is getting a shipment of of a PS3 250GB bundle that includes LBP GOTY and Infamous for 350$. The HDMI cable is nice to get it but I would rather get something else in the bundle. You can get them for like 5 bucks on Amazon?

@EdEN: that’s one hell of a promo bundle lol

@Abeja: yeah, HDMI cables are cheap, but it’s just the thought of having to buy one when the PS3 touts it’s HD capabilities and only provides the composite connections (not even component cables? come on!) and a lot of folks didn’t even know that. That’s why I think all systems should start including HDMI cables regardless.

@Jay: Even better is that I got all that for $299 which basically means I obtained $100 worth of items free. Can’t remember if I also got a Bluray Remote as part of the deal or if I bought it on the same day…
