Hulu Plus Coming to PS3 |

Hulu Plus is a paid $10/month subscription service that provides unlimited buffet style viewing (like Netflix) of movies and TV shows. This is more than the free Hulu website. It includes more content, and also full length versions of what exist as limited clips on the Hulu free site.

This is coming to PS3 in July and is also coming to premium HDTVs, blu-ray players, Apple’s iOS devices, and the Xbox 360 is scheduled to get this in early 2011.

Netflix Instant service is great, but they definitely need some competition in that buffet style all-you-can-watch monthly subscription model.

Is this US only, or will we get it in Australia too?

  • $10/mo. is nutty, especially for content streams that still include commercials. Netflix at $9/mo. makes way more sense with no commercials and a massive library of streaming video. Of course, you don’t get the latest shows, and at the moment you still need to use the special BD to stream to the PS3. Not to mention that you also get the physical DVDs & BDs from Netflix — a still larger library. Anyway, Hulu annoys me. I occasionally watch 30 Rock on it, but that’s about it. And I don’t need to pay Hulu for the privilege, as NBC streams all of their shows on their website.
