OK, I already love this game. Looks amazing and the new powers? Ridiculously cool! The bad guys kind of remind me of the necromorphs from Dead Space in a way, though haha

Badass! I love the new induction grinding options: cables on the walls, pipes up the building. I also like that the flying power is faster — I didn’t really like how slow one floats in the first. Tornado power at the end is pretty awesome. California looks like it’ll be a fun environment.

I think its more of a New Orleans, Louisiana type location

I dunno, cat — palm trees and missions (at least, there was a santa barbara-style mission in the game’s first promotional graphic, which someone posted a few weeks ago) — sounds like cali to me.

well, this might put an end to your argument: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/109/1094892p1.html

and the first part of this story pretty much confirms it: http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2010/06/21/for-infamous-2-cole-gets-a-new-look-weapon-voice/
the city is called New Marais, and marais is French for ‘marsh’, and with the game looking like the French quarter of N.O. (so far), it’s pretty obvious it’s not in CA (especially the guy’s accent in the trailer)

cool, thanks for sharing the links! I’d never have guessed new orleans from what little we’ve seen of the visual style. I can see ign’s point about the wrought iron — that is certainly reminiscent of le vieux quartier, but the mission as st. louis cathedral? I don’t buy it. but yeah, the developer interview cinches the deal. we’ll have to see how it looks, I guess. it’s not unknown to see palm trees around the gulf — I think in particular of galveston, but they’re not typically associated with the big easy. the name “new marais” is kind of cute: “new swamp,” and also evokes the 3rd and 4th arondissements in paris, obviously.

palm trees are everywhere along the southern border, so anywhere from CA to FL have them pretty much (even here in dry, dusty, landlocked AZ lol)

^ I agree is looks like Uncharted 2. I think this one has more of a movie look gameplay. I could be wrong but thats my opinion.
