Ratchet & Clank PS2 Collection to PS3: Hummm, maybe…

… but not from Insomniac Games. They could support Sony, if there is enough interest, though. That’s what the Burbank-based independent studio twitted a couple days ago, in response to a possibility of a compilation of R&C PS2 games:

“We won’t make it, but we’d support Sony if they decided to do it!”

At first, I thought it should be a good idea playing with my favorite lombax and his fellow robot in high definition. Then, I just realized that I already played with the duo in glorious high definition, and three times! First, in R&C: Tools of Destruction. Then, the PSN title R&C: Quest for Booty (disc-based in Europe), and finally R&C: A Crack in Time.

What do you think? Should it be a good idea to bring back those PS2 titles? Or we should just move along and wait for a brand new adventure from Insomniac?

Well, a collection wouldn’t hurt. It would be 4 platinums for $60-70 at most and that’s a very good value. Plus, the games themselves are fun.

I don’t know it seems like SONY is rehashing a lot of the old titles.

@EdEN @Luke I just don’t want them to focus only in remakes and stop thinking about future titles… and innovation.

There’s a fair few PS2 gems I missed out on (Both Team ICO games, the Sly series, and the Ratchets – I only got into the R&C series with Tools of Destruction on PS3) so I’m all for the collections of these – rumoured or otherwise.

I’d love to see the Onimusha games remastered w/trophy support, but I doubt Capcom would be up for that.

Played all Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper games but would buy them in an HD collection. Played SotC but not ICO so I would buy a Team ICO collection.

What other collections could they make? One for Jak and Daxter?

Never had a PS2. Love the PS3 R&C titles, though — particularly the first, Tools of Destruction. If the PS2 titles are as strong, then I’d definitely buy a re-release compilation of them.

……OR Sony could stop removing feature sets and return PS2 emulation to us……….

Come on! A PS2 R&C collection would be awesome!
People who have not played the originals need to experience Courtney Gears.

I would also like to see an R&C compilation. Onimusha and team ICO would be amazing remastered. The top of my list though would have to be Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX and X remastered in HD.
