Darrin: The shutter glasses and IR transmitter would need logic to do both lenses off/on as opposed to alternating between left/right, but it sounds like it’s a small variation of the basic 3D tech.Obviously, you would either get this screen sharing OR stereo 3D. You can’t get both at the same time. But you can pick and choose through software, so if you are playing solo, you can switch to 3D if you want.

It may actually be possible to do 3d as well as screen sharing.
3DTVs run at 120FPS.
For 3d, that means 60fps per eye, in a L,R,L,R,L,R format.
Using screen sharing, it would work as 1,2,1,2,1,2 insead of L,R,L,R,L,R, at 60 frames per screen per second.
Lets say they speed the FPS up (i have no idea how they do that). If they could double it to 240FPS, then you could have 2 120fps screens running, and in full 3D, in a 1L,2L,1R,2R

Splitting up the screen for two player really sucks. You would think that if you played the game on a big enough TV it wouldn't be as bad but it still bothers me to play split screen even with a big TV.
This could possibly be the biggest breakthrough in co-op ever!! If the technology works as well as it sounds like it could.

That sounds pretty wild. Has this been done before or tested before? This is the first time I've heard of it. If it works well then that would be amazing but you would have to say bye bye to 3D right? They couldn't possibly do them both at the same time could they?

Very interesting idea. It would be nice to have a full screen to yourself instead of splitting it up in half.
