PlayStation Plus content to be published Bi-Weekly

I can see the uproar now, but the Official PS3 Blog has just announced that the PlayStation Plus content is going to be released on a Bi-Weekly basis. So unfortunelty, PlayStation Plus members will have to wait until next week before they can get their hands on the following:

PlayStation Plus: Highlights for 8/10

Red Faction Guerrilla from THQ – 60-minute Game Trial
Qore August Episode with exclusive demo of TerRover from SOE
PixelJunk Racers Second Lap – Early Access and Limited Time Discount exclusive
Aero Racer mini – FREE

Last Chance, Get Them While You Can – Coming down 8/10:

Games
Fieldrunners – mini – FREE
Super Stardust (PlayStation Plus price $5.00, original price $9.99)
Gravity Crash (PlayStation Plus price $5.00, original price $9.99)

Discounted Add-ons

Themes (Free to PlayStation Plus subscribers)
King Zumo
MAG S.V.E.R Dynamic Theme
MAG Raven Dynamic Theme
MAG Valor Dynamic Theme

I don’t know about anyone else but I am actually fine with this. They needed to organize this a little better. You just never knew if there was going to be something to download or not, this way you know that there is going to be a nice little package waiting for you every other week. It’s also great to see some more full game goodness up for grabs without having to run out and buy the game.

As long as they continue to provide the same amount of overall content as we got in the first month, I don’t care if they do 4, 3, 2 or just 1 update a month. Keep things moving, keep things coming.

I agree, I’m fine with this.. The last update gave us critter crunch.. which is actually a really fun and addictive game.

well, before we even had PS+, we never knew anything about the update schedule and, at the time, I assumed it would be just one update a month, but at least now we know when to expect stuff

Now Sony needs to work on having the tuesday update go live at the same time every day. Waiting until the last moment to update is just crazy. With Nintendo and Microsoft you know at what time you can start downloading the new releases.

Yea Most of the time I don’t look till Wed as each time I look on Tue there’s no update yet.

I am pretty surprised that they post it at all different tomes. Seems like a lot of people complain about this on the official ps3 blog. Maybe there are just a bunch of things they are trying to do a fall a little behind.

what they should do with that is make the updates ready to go on Monday but not tell anyone that it ever is ready, and schedule the update to go live at like 10AM EST on Tuesdays, then there wouldn’t be so much complaining

That’s what Nintendo and Microsoft do. If your stuff isn’t approved and uploaded a day before the update, then you’re rescheduled for the week after at the earliest and thus they update pretty much exactly at the same time every day.
