The user Joe Garcia at the PlayStation University website has comprised a list of “games you will never, ever platinum.” He details his experiences with each game as well as the reasons why achieving a platinum is impossible. His list after the jump.

GTA IV, …I got the “off the boat” trophy and that was it I think and maybe playing darts one hahaha…So hard to do them damn trophies. I for one don’t care for trophies (Don’t wanna hurt any feelings *cough jay,sinlock,etc…COUGH*). I just don’t care for them I said this to people many times, if trophies counted for something maybe unlocking some hidden part of the game I’d try my hardest to get the trophies, But usually I don’t like going out of my way to get a trophy.

Yet you post them all over your facebook?
SFIV is definitely impossible unless you own a stick and a tournament player, its nuts! Wipeout HD is also tough and try winning the World Cup online with a half star team in 2010 World Cup!
MAG is also a tough one as you have to reach top rank with each faction and do some exemplary challenges on the way.

well, that is just from games updating them when I start them up usually lol. I’ll occasionally go in myself to clear them up so I dont have to wait forever when they do synchronize my trophies, but I turned them on for FB because it was a feature I wanted to try lol

I have GH:Metallica and will confess that it is a very difficult game to platinum. I have 76% of the trophies and I doubt that number will ever move.
SFIV was very difficult as well. Stuck at 80% on that one before I traded it in for SSFIV, which I will also never platinum because I can’t pull off the combos in the challenges

I 100% Bioshock 2 on the Xbox in a week… Same achievements/trophies right? So that one should be removed off the list lol.

Rock Band 2, finished the Endless Setlist 2 in World Tour on Expert??? Never going to happen.
Then there’s the LBP trophies that require 50 hearts and such for a published level. My level making skills all suck so I’ll never platinum that game either.

I’m awful, but I couldn’t even get a single trophy in that game. There’s not even a “Thanks for turning on Socom” trophy.

Probably 2 months or so. Maybe less. The dude is ridiculous. He has like 9 Plats and a full time job.

Just from memory he platted Disgea 3, Fallout 3, Sacred 2, (grinder RPG…don’t know how he did it without going crazy) Resonance of Fate, and a Tomb Raider game. I can’t remember the other ones but it’s a pretty respectable list. He won’t even play a game if he thinks it isn’t challenging. He’s been working on Record of Agearest War recently but I think he’s caught up in StarCraft II.

Oh Sacred 2 Plat is crazy. I’m still working on it.
My most fun Plat has been Arkham Assylum. The longest was Brutal Legend. The easiest Terminator Salvantion. And the one that was fun and I didn’t expect it was G-Force. Go figure.

Oh that’s another one my sisters boyfriend has is Brutal Legend. Another Sacred 2 player? haha I didn’t think anyone but me and him played that game…you’re the first person I’ve found.

I have finish rock band 2 and I have 14 platinums so far. Now I’m working with GH smash hit which I found them time consuming and not that hard( except for raining blood on expert plus.

Socom confrontation is by far the most impossible game to plat. You will get maybe one trophy after 1 month of playing, And thats if your really good. The trophies are so hard to get they give you a percentage under each trophy to tell you how much progress you have made.

I got my Platinum in Bioshock 2 in one weeks time several months after the games release. It was easy and the multiplayer grind took less than 20 hours.
GH: Metallica, no one is playing that. However one can always post on trophy message boards and find people willing to help.
Fighting games are hard to Platinum because there is a small percentage of people who play those online and they are usually some of the best in the world in my opinion. I don’t come across many people just “trying out” the game.

Theres a glitch for Socom constipation ( confrontation) not that the games helps ya to get them since is very buggy to get most of them.

I HATE online trophies as a requirement for the platinum because once the servers are closed too quick (as is the case with most EA games) you’re left with a game you can’t ever platinum (Lord of the Rings Conquest comes to mind).

I agree, I hate online trophies (unless of course it’s an online game like Warhawk or MAG).
I’ve only got a few Platinums (Infamous, GOW1 and GOW2) and I’m working on a few more (Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 1 and 2, Assassins Creed 2, Buzz). Plus there’s a few I’m going to rent just to get an easy Plat (Terminator and Saw). But personally, the ones I think I’ll never Platinum and almost can’t be bothered trying, are Bioshock, Fallout 3, LBP, Singstar, and Sonic Unleashed. LBP and Singstar for the online ones, Bioshock and Sonic for the difficulty, Fallout 3 just for the sheer length of time.
Does anyone know if FF13 is an easy Platinum? I heard that the majority are story based.

FF13 will take you forever to Platinum because half of them are post-ending and require a long time.
Total time for Platinum should be 100-130 hours depending on skill and in great part to luck since you need to create weapons and thus need materials.
