I love my PS3 and always like to buy originals, but Sony's thinking is backward. Some gripes I have:
1) Lack of Region free on DVD and Bluray. I travel a lot and have DVD's from many countries which I can play fine on my DVD player, but my PS3 won't let me. Although many Blu Rays are region free, fav films like Punisher Warzone are not. They would have far many sales if they opened this up, freeing Bluray up.
2) Lack of backward compatability. I don't want a seperate PS2 to play my games on. It just causes clutter in my already cluttered living room.
3)Removal of Homebrew was stupid, as most people use it for legal purposes.
4)Being able to play all my legal games off and external hardrive is a great idea. I have all my DVD's and blu rays backed up onto a server which plays on my media player. Why can't I do this for games? I have the originals?
5) Price of games. Developers really need to take a more enlightened view on new releases for games and make then around the $30 mark. I bet they would sell far more. At the moment I just wait until the price comes down anyway.

I had plenty of PS2 controllers with the analog sticks completely giving out (they would fall to the corners or something and feel like they locked up sometimes)

...You could toss one of those against the wall…pick it up and keep playing.PS3 controllers not so much.Not only that…PS2 at least had touch sensative buttons since it was analog and not digital.

</blockquote>

Ah yes, but that was an illusion. Instead bits came apart inside and the debris jammed the bumper buttons and the joysticks would go off center. They would be good to play with but only if you didn't need accuracy. I'm still waiting on any of my Sixaxis to show signs of damage from all the times I've manhandled them. Been lucky so far with them I guess.

Not sure if this news about them seeing the hack is true or not but I wouldn't want to be the one that got banned for something stupid like that. I usually pay brand new games for about $45 on ebay instead of the $60 price range so I am good.

I bought my ps3 for $277 brand new a year or 2 ago and I am not interested in it getting banned.
