Autumn / Winter 2010 – A Busy Period For Buying Games?

For me, Autumn and Winter are always a busy period when it comes to purchasing games. Each year, October sees the release of FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. Late October / Early November sees the COD franchise getting unleashed with Battlefield getting some major DLC in December with the Vietnam pack being released.

However, this year, my trouser pocket is getting tortured with purchases of PlayStation Move, Sports Champions, Tiger Woods, Start The Party, Formula 1 2010 and GT5!  I’m sure somewhere in between buying all of these games, there will be some snacking, purchasing more games via PSN, spending time with the family and actually doing some work.

So – from me to you. Which purchases are high up on your shopping list? Apart from the games listed above, there are many more being released, such as: Battelfield: Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition, Spiderman Shattered Dimensions, R.U.S.E, Deathspank 2, Dead Rising 2 and many more.

How much money do you think you’ll be spending on your beloved console before the year is out? :D

It’s the same for me but I lean more towards winter since I do a lot of game buying with my end of year bonus.

Also winter is when I get a chance to catch up with all my purchases for the year and thus my winter purchases get played during the whole year when possible.

I’m getting the LBP2 collector’s edition and will probably get Fallout: New Vegas before the end of the year. I usually wait for games to drop in price or get a really good sale before picking them up. In the last 18 months my only day-one pick ups were Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2. I’ll probably look for some good holiday sales though. I wish I had the money to buy all the Move stuff i want this fall, but i’ll probably build that up slowly.

This year is nowhere near as bad as last year IMO. This year my only 100% must haves are GT5 and LBP2 with Fallout NV about an 75% sure purchase. I’m not sold on COD Black Ops. Compare this to last year with Batman, MW2, Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank, Tekken 6, Demons Souls and Assassins Creed 2!

I agree with you, this winter there’s a lot of new games coming out. And I have already pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops, Little Big Planet 2 and Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. And when Ratchet and Clank: All 4 one comes out, I’m definitely going to get that as well! And I might get some other games such as GT5 etc .. But luckily I haven’t bought any games at all this summer, because I saved all my money for now haha, good thing.
