Skinning Your PS3 – Have You Tried It?

Modding your PS3 is one thing, by either adding a huge hard drive to it, adding a water cooling system to your machine or turning it into a grill, modding is for one that has the knowledge and know-how to make their PS3 look and act differently.

Skinning, however, is somewhat a little different. There’s no need to go into detail on what skinning is about, but more so to see if many have plucked the courage to go ‘skinning’ dipping. I’m currently on my 2nd PS3 (my launch model’s Blu-ray drive decided to resign). I skinned both of my PS3 consoles. I LOVED my launch model’s skin, however, I only have a photo of my current skin on my replacement machine. Here’s the snap I took a few months ago:

So, have you plucked the courage to go ‘skinning’ dipping? Have you got any photos of your PS3 with a skin? Why not share them with us? Have you created a custom skin for your PS3 or bought one from stock? Please share your photos with us – it’ll be great to see the different skins on show!

P.s. I bought my skins from Decalgirl – in case you were wondering. Which sites do you use?

If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber you can get 25% off the 2 year PS3 plan. Normally it’s $59.99, but with the discount it is only $44.99. This service was introduced to give gamers peace of mind by providing an additional one or two years of coverage on top of their one year limited manufacturer’s warranty. Attention all Co-writers and Future Co-writers

In addition to the “Post News” link at the top for co-writers, there is a drop down for the “Co-Writers Group” as well. An exclusive group for those that write news for PS3Blog.net

I put that link there so it’s easier to check the group off and on. I also want all the co-writers to join this group so we can all communicate in one place. When there are opportunities to review games/products. I will post it in that group, so check it often! Plus there are tips/guidelines on posting in the group forum as well.

To those future co-writers out there, come and post news for PS3Blog.net! It’s easy trust me, if you want to start out by posting QuickNews that perfectly fine. That how many co-writers started out. Come join us! :)

Mafia II PS3 Review

I’ve been anticipating this game since I stumbled upon the website from 2K’s main page while looking for information on BioShock Infinite. I was surprised I hadn’t heard about it before, but I guess my agonizing waiting of L.A. Noire, and Rockstar’s little to no information about it made me pursue other games. It seems to be GTA 1950 with similar missions, cars and weapons in a huge open world, which looks pretty much exactly like Liberty City, except it’s not.

The city is Empire Bay, not related to the Empire City which had the crap kicked out of by a terrorist bomb and a dude who shoots lightning out of his hands in InFamous, and it looks exactly like New York City, even though the Czech dudes who produced the game said that Empire Bay was based off multiple cities in the United States, but mostly New York. Just in the trailer, you can see the Chrysler Building, Empire State Building and Brooklyn Bridge. All that was missing was the Statue of Liberty in the Empire Bay harbor.

[Review] Madden NFL 11

First of all, I’m not much of a sports fan. I’ll occasionally play an NFL title, but for the past few years, I haven’t really enjoyed any. It has been a long time since there was a really good NFL-licensed football game. The last great one was NFL 2K5, which, at the time, sold for $20 brand new. This, compared to Madden’s $40 or $50 price tag of the same year, was considered one of the best deals in sports game history. You not only got a football game on the cheap, but you got a well-presented one at that.

After buying out the NFL license, and six year later, EA released Madden NFL 11. Does the game meet or exceed any of the milestones 2K Sports had done all those years ago? So far, the Madden games haven’t done so, but they were the only source for an NFL-branded simulation game for half a decade now. My goal here is to give you an idea of what to expect from this year’s Madden if you haven’t played it already.
