Sony can detect PSJailbreak and it’s Bannable on PSN

We reported last friday that the PS JailBreak has arrived. But for those of you that actually purchased it. You may want to return it. If you play online the backup manager game ID (LAUN-12345) can be seen by Sony and could very well get your PS3 console banned for it.
Now you could just not connect to the PlayStation Network sure, but is that really worth it? You can’t update your games anymore, update firmware for future blu-ray movies that may need it, etc. Do you always want to live in fear that Sony will drop the ban hammer because you use the PSJailbreak?

Some Cool Game-Based Movie Trailers
These are all fake, and created by YouTube user bloodrunsclear. The above is for Red Dead Redemption (and I think he did an awesome job with it), using scenes from multiple movies and mashing them together. He’s got a whole collection of them, too, so be sure to check out his page! There are so many, I didn’t know which ones to put up. A few more after the jump (I put the Heavy Rain one up top, since it was done VERY well).
Sony has More PS3 Exclusives to Announce
Over the last few months, Sony’s first-party developers have been making announcement after announcement of major games that would make any PS3 owner want to fast-forward into the future. Some of these titles include Resistance 3, Killzone 3, LBP 2, inFamous 2, R&C: All 4 One, GT5, and even the return of Twisted Metal. That’s a dream team of games right there, but according SCEE president and CEO Andrew House, there’s even more to come.
Speaking at Sony’s presscon at GamesCom, House teased that this year will be a great one for the PlayStation brand as they’ve got more aces up their sleeve. “we’ve heard from Resistance 3 and Ratchet and Clank All 4 One, along side games such as infamous 2, Sorcery, GT5, Killzone 3, and a few more we’ve yet to share…” he said. “This is going to be a stellar year for PlayStation”
Sony has had a great year so far with the release of titles such as Heavy Rain and God of War III. With the rain of big sequels already announced, it’s kinda hard to think of more to add to that list. Who cares? That’s very welcome news.

*Phew* Alright, finally caught up on the Recaps! The biggest thing last week was, of course, gamescom, and there was a bit that came out of that. Sony’s console is picking up one of the 360′s biggest exclusives in Mass Effect 2. 160GB consoles are coming to replace the 120GB it looks like, Portal 2 has an announced release date, GT5 showed up, with more content (and won best of show and best console game), and Kung-Fu Live was there, too, and will have a supposed $15 price tag (really cheap for what looks like a pretty fun Eye-only title).
2K Games has gotten a lot of backlash when it was found that the PS3 version of Mafia II was lacking in details the 360 and PC versions had (but there are supposedly some PS3 screens that do have the ‘missing’ details), and, with my trip to LA, I wrote an impressions and hands-on post for SmackDown vs Raw 2011. As for all the trailers and videos, we’ve got some for Dragon Age 2, Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, InFamous 2, a teaser for Resistance 3, and more.
Oh, and Subway is running some promotions for their fiery footlongs with Sony, and they’re running contests on Twitter for it as well (in which both Luke and Tosh had won copies of LBP2, those lucky sons of…)

There are a couple small, new things this week. Firstly, your points now show up at the top of the page, making it easier for you to check your balance.
Secondly, forum posts now show up in the activity feed. You can filter the feed by forum posts as well. Other things include the ability to mark forum posts as favorite, and, for writers, there’s a ‘Post News’ link at the top as well.

John Koller PS3 Move Interview
Here is an interview that Gamespot did with SONY’s Director of Hardware Marketing John Koller. He doesn’t really give out any new information that we haven’t heard before, but it’s just good to hear him talk about the product, about the marketing, and the angel they are trying to take with the MOVE.

Alright, part 2 of the lost recaps! Highlights this week are talk of betas for both Killzone 3 and LittleBigPlanet 2, Android OS possibly making its way onto a future PSP, PS3′s official launch in Brazil, sales for the month of July and info on new Borderlands DLC.
There is also some new screens for DiRT 3, BioShock: Infinite was announced, Virtual Air Guitar Company showed off its newest trailer for Kung-Fu Live, and finally, a few random articles, including a picture of RDR and Toy Story mashed up. There is also a large collection of QuickNews articles last week as well, so be sure to check those, too. One more recap to go, which will go up either tonight or tomorrow morning, seeing as the week isn’t quite over yet.

Well, to start, I let you guys know that I was heading to LA last Sunday. I wanted you guys to ask me questions I could ask THQ, but didn’t get much of a response. I’m still open on questions, though, and I can still send them some.
To make it easier to share stuff on the site, and help promote it, Tosh added some new share icons to the bottoms of the posts. With that, and Luke and I stepping up Twitter and FaceBook, respectively, we’ve been getting a bit more traffic!
There were a few contests going on, such as Oly’s Mafia II t-shirt giveaway and the usual Chat giveaways we get every once in a while, but those are now finished and the winners will be on the recap for this week.
There was also the giveaway for the Red Dead Redemption game nights. LOKO117 and Dgoransson both won prizes, good job guys!

OK, yeah, I’m real late on this one! Sorry folks! Since I still have to do last week’s after this one, I’m gong to skip out on adding the links to this part of the post, but I will still show off the highlights. The Arkham Asylum sequel has finally been named, Geurilla is supposedly working on a new IP, PlayStation Plus has gone bi-weekly, we finally saw some screens for Heavy Rain on the Move, we saw what the European version of Gran Turismo 5 Special Edition will include, as well as downloadable cars for the Collector’s Edition (unless the two are the same).
We saw a cool video for a level created in LittleBigPlanet, as well as a story trailer for LBP2. The Uncharted movie was delayed, Oly showed us the 24 hour RDR comic, and we saw a ridiculous setup for a remote controlled WipeOut track. Be sure to read everything else in the recap, seeing as we had a total of 30 articles for that week alone.

First off, double points in the forum has been over for a while now. Tosh disabled the PM feature in the forum (so we will only be using the Community PM feature).
The Global Site Activity is now available to see on Twitter. Members of the forums can now buy and sell/trade games on there, so you can always check into that if you want to trade for something, etc.
