Duke Nukem Forever Multi-platform Release [Video: Update] |

Just announced out of PAX is that Duke Nukem Forever has been revived by Gearbox. This is going to be a multi-platform released as the heading suggests and that it’s in the polishing stages. What has also been confirmed is that it will include a multiplayer option. All we know as of right now is that it’s going to be released sometime in 2011. Hopefully this time it really makes it out the door.

Notice how the TV is SONY and the remote is an XBOX controller. A match made in heaven!

Here are two videos that one of our members Legion213 found:

  • It’s time to kick ass and chew bubble gum… and I’m all outta gum.

  • I hope that the PS3 is not the bastard child port.
I really getting sick and tired of that stuff….

  • What the heck is Duke Nukem anyway?

  • Jay
  • lol, thanks for that, @Jay! brings back happy memories. didn’t realize at the time how much of the dialogue comes from the evil dead series.

  • It is now snowing in hell and I just saw a pig fly buy. I am really looking forward to the game.

  • Eddie

still overwhemingly meh. Hopefully its over the top on the cursing and nudity so I can enjoy it lol.

  • I know I’m alone on this one but I think its a total waste of time and creativity on their part. Why resurrect a subpar series when they could be working on a brand new IP.

  • @UbeRamza I think they are doing it because they know there was a lot of time invested in this game plus it would be awesome for the team that brought this highly anticipated game back and save the day. Everybody wins.

  • hrm, well it could be awful, no doubt about it. but as I recall duke 3d, and this may be through the rosy lens of remembrance, it was quite a canny parody of a particular strain of american popular cultural machismo in the mold of rambo or die hard. so in retrospect, the evil dead references make perfect sense. a new duke could be terribly exploitative, or it could provide delightful critical commentary on a new generation of media. who might provide a fitting model for this generation’s duke? it’s not going to happen, but I’d love to see duke qua jack bauer. terrorists, chemical weapons, and torture that’s *always* justifiable. could be cathartic if played for laughs.

  • Jonaskin

This is going to be insane. Can’t wait, never thought I’d ever actually get to play it.
