PlayStation Move Sports Champions Table Tennis vs. Wii Sports Resort Table Tennis

I put together a video of game play from PlayStation’s Sports Champions Table Tennis and Wii Sports Resort Table Tennis in a side by side comparison. I played a game as normally as possible. I played a game simply waggling either controller back and forth and I played a game frantically wailing either controller back and forth.

What did I find?

  • On the PlayStation version, if I hold the controller at a medium level and stand in the middle of the table, I can hit the ball a decent amount of times when simply waggling back and forth.
  • On the Wii version, when simply waggling back and forth, I just about always hit the ball, I just didn’t have much control over the ball.
  • It is possible to play the Wii while waving the Wiimote above your head like a cowboy.
  • It is not possible to play the PlayStation while waving the Move above above your head like a cowboy.
  • The Wii is fun to play.
  • The PlayStation is too.

When your actually using the Move compared to the WiiMote do you feel its more or less laggy?, from the video it looks like there is lag between the motion and the video response for the move, is this just from the recording?

What about wrist control? I liked wii sport resort table tennis the best out of the other games for it’s accuracy and detail in wrist motion. Does the move have great spin control?

The spin control is probably 100 times better in Sports Champions. I try to give the ball spin in Sports Resort, and it’s like its random. In Sports Champions, it spins each time I try and it spins the correct direction each time.

I honestly don’t notice any lag at all with the Move.

So from watching the video I get this comparison….

    Wii is to Smart Fourtwo
    as
    PS Move is to Ferrari

    LONG LIVE SONY!

The video was kinda hard to see what big diffrence was. Might just be my pc, but the move does look alot more resonsive. a huge bonus. Sadly I dont play my wii that much looks like I might not ever now with the move lol

Same here the Wii portion was really hard to view at least on the TV, way to bright.

this is not an accurate comparison. in the bronze setting on the move it has an auto-aim. Turn that off for a real comparison: main menu, options, table tennis bronze assist -> off.
