Watch 3D Photos with PlayMemories (PSN)
Posted by Gibb in Media, PS3 software, PSN on September 29th, 2010
Todays European PSN Store update includes PlayMemories, a free application that allows you to view photos in 3D. Since not everybody has a 3DTV or a 3D Camera you can also watch regular photos (as of today called “2D photos”).
Now it’s easy to explore and enjoy 3D panoramic images on your PlayStation®3 and 3D BRAVIA™ or 3D-capable TV.
PlayMemories is a new application for PS3™ that lets you organize and view 3D still images captured with the growing range of 3D-compatible cameras by Sony.
Available for free download from PlayStation®Store, PlayMemories offers a whole new experience for PS3™ users to view their collection of 2D and 3D photos. Select a picture and zoom in or out using your DUALSHOCK®3 or SIXAXIS™ wireless controller: it’s easy, intuitive and fun.
There’s a growing choice of 3D-capable digital cameras from Sony. 3D Sweep Panorama captures extra-wide 3D scenes: just press the shutter button and sweep the camera from side to side. Cameras offering 3D Sweep Panorama currently include the NEX-3/NEX-5, Cyber-shot™ WX5 and Cyber-shot™ TX9, plus the new α55 and α33 translucent mirror cameras.
PlayMemories is available as a free download from PlayStation®Store from late September 2010.

Have you been itching to find out whether the The final mix for Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is going to include new maps, new bosses and new commands for the game? Well heck yeah they are and Square Enix is going to go all out for this mix. Hopefully we’ll see this stateside and in downloadable version. It’s what kept me away from the purchase.
Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath Only on PS3?
Posted by Luke in Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, PS3, PSN on September 28th, 2010
Seems like Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath might only be making its way to the PS3 this coming Easter. According to Just Add Water they’ve received a good amount of flack for announcing that they are bringing back “Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath” revamped, for the PS3. Questions have been raised as to why the team has decided to make this a PS3 exclusive, others have asked why they aren’t making it for the Xbox, and others have asked the team not to be dicks, and support the 360.

The team responded with the following:
So what’s the story, whilst I can’t go into complete detail on this, I can tell you that we are NOT PS3 Exclusive. As far as we are concerned we are a multi-platform company, supporting the big 3, PC/PS3 & 360.
Racquet Sports hands on review
Posted by mairondil in Game Impressions, PlayStation Motion Games, Racquet Sports on September 28th, 2010

With PlayStation Move being so new to the market, there aren’t a ton of games available yet, especially third party games. One of Ubisoft’s first entries into PlayStation’s motion control technology is a port of their Wii game Racquet Sports. I never played the Wii iteration of Racquet Sports, so I’m not able to compare the game between platforms. From the screenshots and box art for the Wii version, it looks like the graphics have been improved and some of the ‘cutesy’ elements have grown up for the PlayStation version.
Resistance 3 Concept Art Revealed
18 pieces of concept art for Insomniac Games’ Resistance 3 have been released on Flickr. These images seem to confirm that Capelli from Resistance 2 will be the protagonist this time around.

That’s been speculated by some since he was spotted in the live action trailer released during Gamescom. Some of the images are titled too. There’s R3_Haven_RunToTheLight, R3_Haven_Capelli, R3_Haven_ShakeyGround_SCEE_Exclusive, R3_MP_Prison_Arena_SCEE_exclusive and this one( below ) called R3_Boat_Chase.

Anyone that still hasn’t purchased Uncharted 2 (shame on you!) can now patiently wait another two weeks so they can purchase the newly announced Game of The Year Edition. Included with their purchase will be all the Uncharted 2 DLC as well as the Eye of Indira motion comic (new ugly cover art featured to the left is unfortunately not optional and thus will be the standard you’ll have to look at every single time you decide to move the box away from your drawer or wall so you can insert the disc into your PS3) . The full list of extra content included is as follows:
- 3 Downloadable Content packs that include 19 skins, 4 maps, and one new game mode.
- 3 boosters for use in online multiplayer modes including “Currency Multiplier,” “Golden Guns,” and early access to “Revenge.”
- 4 Uncharted: Eye of Indra animated motion comics.
- 2 multiplayer skins of characters featured in the Eye of Indra motion comic series.
- 4 PlayStation Network Avatar Packs including 18 premium Uncharted avatars.
- Pinball Heroes–Uncharted PSP game.
