Sign-in fail.. LOL. I accidentally posted using my brother's sign in. Sorry guys. I'm already telling him to use his own computer. (He's visiting me, no, we don't live together)

terbas: As for the pre-canned remark, it wasn’t necessarily directed at you, most people write those games off saying “but they are pre-canned”.. Even burnout’s crashes look spectactular, which seems more pre-canned than those two other games.

If you think about it, pretty much all games have some form of pre-canned crash detection. It takes an insane amount of processing power to deform models to the point of that kind of realistic devastation, so having completely physics-driven wrecks and damage aren't possible in this generation

I think liveries would be good, I'm trying to answer why it wasn't and probably won't be included. I hope to be proven wrong.

Emrah: I don’t think Kazunori would allow liveries. It is not part of his vision for a perfect driving experience, although liveries are important to some automobile enthusiasts. It’s almost as if he wants a sterile driving experience in a fantasy world with earth physics.

But that kind of view limits what would ultimately be available. Of course, having liveries doesn't necessarily mean you need to use them, either, so you can, theoretically, just race around in that 'sterile' environment.

Emrah: The damage in Grid and Dirt is superb, nobody should deny it. The claim that they are pre-canned is just an excuse. Of course, some thing have to be pre-determined for best performance. What I know is the crashes in CodeMasters titles hold their own even in super slow motion. There are very good youtube videos for those.

I never specified which games have pre-canned wreck animations, only that if a Gran Turismo had them (of course, it would still, obviously, have to depend on the impact area and speed).

Polyphony cannot even add a rewind button for their replays, btw. When you are watching a 3-4 lap race, you cannot just rewind / slow motion key moments. There's no excuse for not having proper replays while there's a photo mode. The photo mode sure will be used by some, but a proper replay with rewind and slow motion would cater for lots and lots of people..
