Netflix New Pricing Model | PS3Blog.net

Netflix, which is available as a stand-alone streaming application on the PS3 and XBOX360, is changing their pricing model effective today, Nov. 22, 2010 for U.S. customers. Netflix is adding a streaming-only option for 7.99 USD/mo., and they are tacking on a dollar to the monthly prices for the one- and two-disc at-a-time plans (raising the prices to $10 and $15/mo. respectively). Presumably this move is meant to make Netflix more competitive with the recently repriced Hulu+ service, which was reduced from $10 to $8/mo.

  • I’m currently trying Netflix out for a month free, honestly I doubt I’ll continue to pay. I think it’s a cool service though. Don’t like to stack another monthly service to my existing bills.

  • Oh I love me my Netflix. I used to live in Austin, Tx., which is heaven on earth, and I had three awesome independent video rental places within walking or biking distance. Several years ago I moved to Southern Cali, where we have nothing but Blockbuster Videos, which are a collective insult to a cinephile. Netflix saved my life.

So for those of us who are suing Sony over their forced removal of PS3 features are being slammed again?

I lost the ability to stream to PS3 when Netflix stopped the disks from working, and now they raise my price because I can’t stream?

    This is very disappointing.

    just download the Netflix app.

And this has nothing to do with Sony, it’s all third party with Netflix.

I lost the ability to stream to PS3 when Netflix stopped the disks from working,..

Isn’t that what the app does?

  • As I understand it, he has a jailbroken box and can’t use the new app.

  • Jay

    well then, serves him right.
