Yesterday, a post went up on the official Black Ops forums from JD himself about a new “Black Ops Security and Enforcement Policy”, detailing, among other things, the new stance on the issue of offensive emblems the community has come up with. This comes shortly after Microsoft announced that they were going to be cracking down on offensive emblems.
What does Treyarch consider offensive? The post states that “Offensive Emblem Makers” with the subheading: “Users who create emblems that are sexually gratuitous or racially offensive”. Punishments are on 2 levels, a “Minor Offense”, where punishment is a 2 week ban from the emblem editor, your emblem reset to default, and all you emblem purchases are wiped, and “Major Offense”, which will net you a perma-ban from the emblem editor.
I’m not easily offended, and I have not yet found any emblems I have come across offensive. Sure they are rude and crude, but It’s not a big deal to me. Lets face it, though; some of these “Creations” are..well, lets say, nasty. Personally, it’s not that big of a deal to me, but of course I’m not the only one playing this game. Now that I think about it, I am getting sick and tired of seeing….well, I wont go into detail, but I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about.
The post also discusses punishments for Modders, Boosters, and Glitchers.
