OnLive Monthly Plan

Seems like OnLive is really stepping things up, earlier today it was announced that they are introducing the unlimited play plan for $9.99 per month starting on the 15th of January.

I think this company has come a long way in a short amount of time. They are quickly becoming the Netflix of gaming and if GameFly isn’t carefully they are going to end up like Blockbuster after Netflix showed up.

First they showed up and wanted to charge people a yearly fee for being a subscriber, but after high demand they decided to do away with that model. Then they resolved the issue where you had to be connected via Ethernet cable to play, you can now play via WiFi.

In December they are going to start shipping their MicroConsoles so you no longer need to be tied to your PC/Mac or Laptop in order to play. You can simply connect the device to your TV and go to town. You can also create bragging clips and just watch someone else play which is very entertaining. Think of it as just watching a movie except you ware watching a fellow gamer. Nothing like giving them the thumbs down when they get smoked by the AI.

I think with the growing library of games and the great service they are providing there are a lot of companies not just GameFly that need to keep their eyes on them. I would even go as far as to say they are going to disrupt the Gaming Industry with the way they are going.

    @Oly I don’t see it happening.
    @Kane112 try OnLive online with it first. You can try the demos after you sign up.

    If I didn’t already have a lot of games to finish and had found a magical door into another dimension where time doesn’t pass then I’d sign up for the $10 a month deal. As it it right now, thanks but no thanks.
