Dead Space 2 Viral Marketing Campaign| Your Mom Hates Dead Space 2

Electronics Arts, the company behind Dead Space 2 has started a viral advertisement that takes advantage of criticism aimed at the game due to excessive gore to create buzz before its January 25th release date.  It reminds me of a very successful viral campaign that was done for “The Last Exorcism”(Video). The video can be seen below:

    I really don’t get this. Isn’t Dead Space 2 an 18 rated game? So, do 18 year olds really care what their mum thinks? It’s like saying, your mum hates this, so it is even cooler. Just don’t get it.
