Trophy System Now Hacked [UPDATE]

According to Destructoid, a hack has already been implimented to unlock all trophies for a game while assigning random time stamps to make it look believable.

That makes piracy, multiplayer cheating and trophy hacks all available as of this moment due to the PS3 Jailbreak. Now I await the PS3 viruses and personal information hacks that I’m sure are to follow.

What I want to know is…where is the good hombrew stuff people told me about? we have a back up device and some poorly running emulators…thats it. The events taking place on the PS3 are giving the legit good homebrewers a bad name.

UPDATE: SCEE issued CVG the following statement:

We are aware of this, and are currently looking into it. We will fix the issues through network updates, but because this is a security issue, we are not able to provide you with any more details.

Im really getting pissed with, I spent months to get 6 plats well except for Terminator lol couple of hours. We need to get a petition going really. We need to let SONY that we are willing to back them up in anyway. With the Lawsuits, with banning of systems. Really I’m starting to think that MS is behind all this. They releized they were loosing interest with ther crummy games os they pull this. I really think that. They hire hackers and tell them to do this. MAN srew damn hackers.

Well for a game like LBP2, time stamps won’t matter. I earned about 6 trophies playing with my son on his account, and as soon as I started the game on my account I got them all back to back.
I could play only with him and then start the game on my side and get all the trophies instantly.

@ehandlr That’s not a fair statement. It takes a lot more time & effort to write/port software than it does to “hack” an already gaping system.

Yeah I hope they fix this because I am getting pretty damn annoyed.

I hope they make a virus. People without jailbreak or PS3’s won’t be affected, of course. Only those brave pirates (disguised as homebrew users) would be affected. Don’t worry, no custom fimware can be used to hack accounts on legimitate PS3’s. (That’s what phishing is for. And Sony’s login system is quite susceptible for that too!)

I meant logins on the web.
