Mass Effect 2, Commander Shepard Battles New Evil! |

There has been some talk floating around on the internetz that some PS3 users are getting corrupted save files after playing Mass Effect 2. According to Chris Priestly the Community Manager this is caused by to many level transitions within a single gaming sessions. The workaround for now is to play a little, turn the game off, and then start it up again. He has also stated that a patch has already been submitted to SONY and is awaiting approval. Patch notes are below:

  • Fixed a crash related to memory fragmentation. This fix will also resolve the crashing that corrupted Save Games.
  • Slightly improved load times and level streaming.
  • Added some telemetry to better improve future titles.
  • Updated some strings to fix spelling mistakes (Sorry Kaidan!)
  • Fixed the picture frame in Shepard’s Cabin to accurately reflect your love interest choices in Mass Effect: Genesis.
  • Fixed a rare crash in the PSN version in Shepard’s Cabin.

I really apreciate a fast placed patch.

But I still can’t find the game anywhere around here so I don’t really know how bad is the problem.

I hope when I get it it’s already patched tough.

    • Oh god, punishing the player for playing one’s game too much is strictly verboten! Don’t want to make the gamer feel like more of an unproductive, anti-social loser than s/he might already! 🙂

    • Now thats annoying bug. Glad they have a patch coming out for it so quickly tho

some said that it reset their entire ps3, not sure how real that is though.
