Duke Nukem Forever Brings Balls of Steel

We’ve been waiting for a while for the new Duke Nukem game, and 2K knows it… so why not go all out on a higher priced Collector’s Edition to celebrate the return of the great one? He’s out to kick ass and chew gum… and he’s all out of gum.

The Balls of Steel edition (yep, that IS the name. Classy, right?) will include the following:

  • Collectible bust of the greatest alien ass-kicker of all-time
  • Numbered, limited-edition certificate of authenticity
  • 100-page hardcover book: The History, Legacy & Legend: Duke Nukem Forever Art from the Vault
  • Duke Nukem Forever postcard series
  • Duke Nukem Forever radioactive emblem sticker
  • Duke Nukem Forever collectable comic book
  • Duke Nukem Forever foldable paper craft
  • Duke Nukem Forever poker chips
  • Duke Nukem Forever mini-card deck
  • Duke Nukem Forever radioactive emblem dice

So, does the new Collector’s Edition have what it takes to make you part with $99, plus tax?

@Oly: Maybe you don’t have a stripper deficiency at the moment and thus don’t feel compelled to try it.

I liked the old school duke, it was like old school doom, the only diff. was that duke talked and was fighting aliens and doom with demons and did not sat anything, hope this game will be good and get high ratings untill then Ill pass on it cause the last game I played of duke was very very sucky Land of the Babes on psone was the last one I thank now duke forever 14 years later, time to kill wasnt bad for psone I liked it.

THis is by far the most I have seen for a collectors edition, it beat GT5 all COD and KZ3.

14 years of anticipation for this game and I’m willing to bet it doesn’t crack an average metacritic score of 60. Anticipation is too high and between the last installment and this release we have seen, quite literally, dozens of new shooters appear, some of them die, and others take their place. They’re undoubtedly banking on pure nostalgia to sell this game. Duke was great back in the early- to late-90s. The shock and awe of his commentary and irreverence had never been seen before. Now, this kind of humor, language and gore is pretty much in every single shooting game out there.

I just don’t see this game distinguishing itself from any other of the multitude of shooters out there to be worth buying, not even this collector’s edition. Duke’s time has come and gone. DNF was best left as a long standing joke.

well really DNF wasnt made in 14 years, only 2 or 3 years in the makeing it was put away for a long time and whatever was made back in the late 90s was stoped and put away so in 14 years they were like what the hell lets get it out and start were they stoped at, so really the game was made in 2 years give or take plus what ever was made in the late 90s so lets say it was in the makeing for 4 years not 14 years to make, I dont know any games that took 14 years to make, maybe 10 years which was, I thank Star Craft 2.

@MAINEiac4433: You sure seem to have found that gift. For $100 he’ll have the game AND the statue! The other extras are a nice bonus as well.
