ModNation Racers Reaches 2 Million Creations/Greatest Hits |

I have yet to pick this game up, but according to the developers, players have now made over 2 million creations. To go along with that announcement, the game is also a Greatest Hit, so you an pick it up for $29.99, both at retailers and on PSN (on the NA store anyway).

To celebrate, they want you to pay attention to the ModNation Monday posts all month for contests and stuff, starting next Monday. Be sure to look out for that!

There is also a contest going on, held by Progressive Insurance; the Progressive ModNation Gran Prix, where you can win a 46″ Sony Bravia and a PS Move Sports Champions bundle (they are also sponsoring a free Parts Pack).

I’ll have to pick this up sooner or later…

Modnation Racers is awesome! I’ve been playing it since the beta, quite a few improvements! The load times are better although sometimes you would think they could still be improved, but honestly, they’re not too bad.

There are so many wonderful creations and tracks, it’s unbelievable. It’s kind of like Mario Kart on steroids. Very fun, challenging and explosive.

Can’t wait for some new stuff, the Progressive pack is pretty cool and it’s free. Yeah, so what, Progressive is plastered over all of the goodies but it’s racing game, therefor, it’s pretty realistic, imo.

stopped liking this game after SP campaign all the CPU characters where gunning me and ME only…and the challenges were either almost impossible or the AI made it impossible

just like LBP this game best shines on the ONLINE portion…but as a SP game..its a joke

idk i might load it up after what feels like a year of not playin and see what new creations are around…but yeah not really excited about it tho

    I’ve never played this game.

Even though i generally hear great things about it, it sincerely doesn’t appeal to me.

I think the game just looks silly. I could be wrong.

I also stopped playing after the tough and annoying SP campaign
    The powerups are too strong
If you get hit in first place theres absolutely no way you would be in first

I wish it was like Mario kart where u had an opportunity of still being first

  • My friend liked the PS+ download so much he bought the game off of Amazon for $20.

  • Yeah, I wonder how well this sold. Well enough to become Greatest Hits, I guess. It just got so much bad press for load times on the run-up to release, and even with the patch improving that, reviewers and the public all seemed rather ‘meh’ about the title. It’s a real shame, as the PS3 really does need Mario Kart.

Trust me, this game is superb and the game play is exactly how you would imagine it to be. Single player campaign is very difficult, I gave up half way, only to return at a later to date to complete it with ease. The shield and notifiers (for weapons) are a little weird and you have to time them perfectly, but this all comes to you with experience.

It can be frustrating, but because of that, it can be so much more rewarding when you cross the finish line in 1st place.

I like the game but I can not and I mean CAN NOT stand the loading times on this game.

  • Jay

I really want to at least rent this game lol

As far as loading times go, I hear they used to be really bad, but I don’t know how improved they are now. Maybe MNR2 will fix that.
