Swarm Gameplay Interview

Here is another one of my awesome interviews at PAX East. This one is with Gregan Dunn, the Director of Business Development at Hothead Games. He was kind enough to talk to me about their upcoming game called Swarm. In Swarm you control up to 50 Swarmites as they are called, and bend them to your will. There are a lot of things to do in this game and it actually does take some thought to get an awesome score. I am not sure what my score was when I tried this game after the interview, but it wasn’t any where close to the the 14 million points or even Gregan’s score for that matter. I must admit, even though I played this game for a short time period, I had a lot of fun. Watch the video below and let me know what you think.

Great video Luke! I get a great Pikmin vibe from the way the Swarm moves around and how you can change the formation of the pack. Interesting how actually killing them increases your multiplier and that will probably play into unlocking special levels or bonuses.

Do you have their contact info? I was thinking about doing a Q & A and posting it during next week to start hyping this release before the release at the end of march.

I am sure that is something we can do. The game is a lot of fun @Beastxjason, one of the things that I really like about it that is different is that u kill them for a multiplier, besides many of the other things.

Great post! Very bright and interesting video. I actually think this game looks like it may be fun. I just love leading my little characters to horrible deaths! I always prefer to read the quality content and this thing I found in you post. Thank you a lot for sharing.

    A lot going on, but I’ll be honest… I wasn’t moved.

But I think it’s just not my kind of game. Liked the gameplay ideas however.
