Rising would’ve been on my list too, but it’s more than likely to be released in 2012, unfortunately.

However, I’d rather have the game be in development for awhile and have it be awesome that be speedily released and have it suck.

Uncharted 3I’ll chuck Modern Warfare 3 on the list as well. And LA Noire. I’m not going to make the same mistake with that as I did with RDR which wasn’t even on my radar until the glowing reviews came in – I’m getting that day 1 for sure.  

I wouldn’t throw Modern Warfare 3 ANYWHERE near my list. Maybe it’s because I’m so blatantly anti-Activision, or that I find it horrendous the way Activision has treated Infinity Ward, or I think it’s terrible that people pay full price for as utterly generic a game as the Call of Duty franchise has turned into…

I’ll stop acting like a hipster now. It’ll probably be fun for those people who enjoy that kind of game. I, however, will have my nose buried in a case in LA Noire

I actually didn’t get RDR (one of my all time favorite games) until July of last year, mostly because I actually did get my PS3 until June of last year. But, if I had my PS3 in May, I can guarantee it would’ve been a day one purchase for me.

It was rather hard to come up with an exact order, but I think this list is pretty good indicator of which I want the most.

I forgot to add Portal 2! I knew there was one I was forgetting to add to the honorable mentions. The first one was absolutely and totally epic, and this one should be even better.

EdEN: Very good picks. As for me, I’d get Mass Effect 3 out of there andSkyrim and put ICO/SotC Collection and Last Guardian in.  

I LOVED Mass Effect 2, and ME3 should be even better. Skyrim looks like it could be the game of the year, and that’s just judging by the incredible trailer. I don’t count the ICO/Colossus as a “new” release per se, as it’s just ports of the PS2 Team ICO games, with updated graphics. I did add The Last Guardian to my honorable mentions, but there is still a strong possibility that it could be delayed into Q1 2012.

Darrin: I like the post, but I don’t like your picks Here are my top 5:Dark Souls (Demon’s Souls was the best RPG in the past decade)
Motorstorm Apocalypse (PR was the best arcade racer ever by a long shot)
LA Noire (Rockstar is on a hot streak. Not sure this will be as amazing as RDR was though)
Infamous 2 (the first was great, and they are improving this one in so many ways)
Uncharted 32011 can even justify another 5 must-buys for me: Resistance 3, R&C, Journey, Last Guardian, and Child of Eden.It might be fun to do a top 5 vote.  

We seem to have radically different tastes when it comes to games. I remember on my last Top 5 list (my most and least favorite games)

A lot of people are mentioning InFamous 2. I wasn’t really a fan of the first one, but I’ll probably give 2 a rent. LA Noire will likely keep my occupied for the entire year, or at least until Skyrim comes out.

Jay: Edited the post a bit.anyway, it would be very hard for me to pick my top 5. ME3 and LA Noire are definitely up there, as is Uncharted 3 and InFamous 2. Also looking forward to Batman: AC. But I am also looking forward to titles like SHIFT 2, Portal 2, SOCOM 4, and Saint’s Row 3.Might not be hard to pick a top 5, but it will be hard for me to order them from 5th to most anticipated  

Damn, Saints Row 3 I completely forgot about! That’s a day one purchase for me, although I do think that LA Noire will blow it out of the water in the open world department.

Markus: Nice list, I am eagerly awaiting those games as well. My number 1 has to be…*drum roll*SKYRIM!  

Skyrim will be amazing. I think everything from the plot to the gameplay to the graphics to the music (that song in the trailer is SO AWESOME) will all make for probably the best gaming experience of 2011. November really can’t get here fast enough.
