New Deus Ex: Human Revolution – “Three Ways to Play” trailer
Posted by Oly in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Media, PS3 on March 25th, 2011
This game is really looking good. As I mentioned before, out of everything I saw at E3 last year, the “Cut Scene” trailer shown for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, peaked my interest the most. In this new trailer, we see Adam Jensen showing us three different ways to infiltrate Sarif Manufacturing.

Winner of the 6 Year Anniversary of PS3Blog.net Giveaway | Plus a chance to win 500 points!

We had 58 lottery entries for this $20 PSN Card giveaway totaling 8700 points. I really enjoyed all your stories on how you found PS3Blog.net and why you stuck around. I first found the site back it later 2005, was searching for ps3 blogs to put on my iGoogle home page. Over time it slowly earned the top middle spot and has stayed ever since. I really liked the community here, everyone was friendly. I first started to post news for the blog on January 12th, 2007. From the start I liked to give things away, and I still do that. I took over management of the site on May 11th, 2009. Thanks again for all your comments, it helps keeps me going.

New Dead Island Screens!
Posted by Luke in Dead Island, PS3 on March 25th, 2011
Straight from the meat factory itself, here are some new screenshots from the upcoming apocalyptic, horror, zombie walking Dead Island game. Now I wasn’t aware there are going to be different classes in this game but it appears so. Here is a snip it from an e-mail:
… featuring a shot of Xian Mei, our assassin class character, fighting the Ram enemy that you had seen in last week’s set of goodies…

de Blob 2 on the PS3
Posted by Rob in de Blob 2, Game Impressions, Media on March 25th, 2011
After first making an appearance on the Wii, and then taking a turn on mobile platforms, de Blob 2 is coming to the PlayStation 3 for the first time, in a direct sequel to the original. Since it comes from a motion-sensitive background, it is no surprise to see support for PlayStation Move controls integrated into the game, but you need not have invested in Sony’s latest peripheral if you want to enjoy its colorful world for a few hours.
The aim in de Blob 2 is to turn the monochromatic world into a hive of colorful loveliness, and thanks to the superior power of the PlayStation 3, the graphics are far crisper and more vibrant than on the Nintendo Wii. You move around the eponymous hero, and at its most basic, it is a kind of paint by numbers platformer, where you literally have to follow the required color scheme in order to progress. The story is thin on the ground, but the selection of cut scenes do a good job of bringing the broadly drawn characters to life, and the simple black and white of the good versus evil plot is pleasingly reflected in the gameplay, which is not something that can be boasted by many other games.
Resident Evil PS2/PS3 Screen Comparisons
As a follow up to Sakinah’s post, here are some screenshots showing the difference between Resident Evil 4 on the PS2 (Left) and the newly re-done version for PS3 (right). Resident Evil 4 will be released on the PSN sometime this fall. These remakes are really breathing life into some old classics, and I want more.
Thoughts? Will you be picking these up?

Dragon Age Fan Made Film Teaser
Posted by Oly in Dragon Age II, Dragon Age Origins, Media on March 24th, 2011
This teaser trailer for an upcoming Dragon Age fan made film, looks really good. The director Leo Kei Angelos had this to say on his YouTube page.
I love Dragon Age so much, I wanted to join in on the fun of Felicia Day’s live action webseries, to show my love for Bioware and the universe they created.
So… I made my own Dragon Age fan film on just about zero dollars budget.
This is an original story I wrote that would fit in with the themes of the Dragon Age world.
To do something epic like Dragon Age justice without a lot of money is challenging, to say the least… But the whole cast & crew utilized all our resources really well and worked our butts off to try and make it happen.
I expect to finish working on the short film and release it in a few months.
To clarify, I’m not trying to compete with Felicia Day or infringe upon Bioware material in any way. I’m just a really, really passionate fan of the game and wanted to show my support of the franchise.

My Top Five Most Anticipated Games for (the remainder of) 2011
Posted by MAINEiac4434 in Dead Island, Editorial, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, L.A. Noire, Media, Off-Topic, PS3, Soapbox, Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception on March 24th, 2011
Since my last top five list was marginally well received, I’ve decided to give it another shot and deliver the games that will keep me a recluse for most of this year.
Yes, it’s almost April, but it’s never too late to think about the games you’re going to be shelling $60 out for. And as long as it’s snowing outside (and it still is here in Maine), I still consider it the beginning of the year…you know, unless it’s November or something.
Anyway, here are my top five most anticipated games for the rest of 2011. All release dates are the current US release dates for the games.
