What Socom 4 needs before launch

I realize we are in a Beta and there will be issues here and there, but there are certain things Socom needs to make its mark.

First and foremost, it needs the ability to invite friends to a squad within a lobby. This is just a must for any game. Killzone 2 had this issue, and getting with friends was not enjoyable at all.

Zipper Interactive’s Seth Luisi stopped by the Sony Blog and tells us about the new mode “Bomb Squad” in the video below.

If this is as fun as Uplink is then Zipper has one heck of a game. Im extremely happy with the Beta thus far and this only furthers my excitement for it.

Shoot Many Robots Video Interview

Have you heard of Demiurge Studios, or maybe Shoot Many Robots? No?? Well, that’s okay. I am sure you’ve heard of games such as Bioshock, Brothers in Arms, Borderlands, and Mass Effect, to name a few. Founded in 2002, Demiurge Studios is one of the leading independent talents in the Boston area. Which, until recently, I found, is quite the hot spot for a good amount of the game development community.

These guys were always the guns for hire that helped companies, such as Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Gearbox Software, and THQ, create just some of the awesome games I listed above. If you are interested in the entire list of games they took part in, you can check it out at Wikipedia. It seems like Demiurge Studios has recently shifted their strategy a little and decided to release their very own original IP, Shoot Many Robots.

How did they think of this game, you ask? Well, the team meets on a regular basis and just throws some ideas around. One day, someone said that they wanted to make a game about shooting robots. After some tweaking, and in between project development, the team finally came up with what you are about to see.

Dead Island to Get a Mature Rating and their Facebook Page an Age Gate

As if we didn’t already know this was coming, Dead Island’s Facebook page just posted this:
“Hi Dead Island Fans,
Because of the upcoming rating by the ESRB we have to implement an age gate on our facebook page. Since we have an expected age rating of M (17+), this group will be only accessible to fans older than that starting tomorrow. Thanks for your understanding!”

If you haven’t LIKED their Facebook page yet, I recommended that you do. This game is going to be a thing of greatness!
