I don't think EA itself screwed up, it was just 2K became better at making basketball games. Especially after EA got exclusive rights to the NFL. I imagine that really pissed the higher-ups at 2K and Take-Two Interactive off.

I stopped picking up Live in 2006. 2K was still better in every way, even on the PS2. I don’t think EA itself screwed up, it was just 2K became better at making basketball games. Especially after EA got exclusive rights to the NFL. I imagine that really pissed the higher-ups at 2K and Take-Two Interactive off.
