Outland Coming April 26th | PS3Blog.net

This is the first time I’ve ever heard of this title, even though it was first shown at PAX last year (and Eddie had posted about it). Developed by Housemarque, and published by Ubisoft, this XBLA/PSN game is a platformer at heart with a few other gameplay mechanics added in (including top down shooters, etc). It is both a single player game and a multiplayer co-op title (but online only), as shown in the trailer above.

The look of the game is very artistic, and looks to be a lot of fun, what, with co-op and boss battles and the like. What’s really cool is that it will only be $10. I couldn’t find much about the game (apart from announcement articles from August and September 2010), but for $10, and the fact that it’s being developed by Housemarque, I think it will be worth picking up.

  1. Wow, this looks interesting. Only $10, and hopefully discounted for PS+ members..

  2. I was going to have the video after the jump and just have a picture up top, but damn, any information and stuff for this game is so hard to come by

  3. i saw a little of this game at pax east 2011. wish i had more time to check more into it. there was a posting on the office ps3 blog about this game soon after pax I think.

    Game looks pretty cool.

  4. It certainly is a very visual experience, nothing wrong with that, I really liked it.

However, the game looks very 2 player dependent on the trailer I think, I wonder how it plays offline…

you gotta keep in mind that this is a co-op trailer and not a single player trailer

  6. From looking at the trailer and listening to the voice-over I get the feeling that this is Co-op only and the second player is AI controlled in case no humans are available…

  7. Wrong. As I said, this is a co-op trailer, so it’s going to show the co-op stuff. Obviously, there are co-op only missions. Here’s the debut trailer, void of any co-op or Player/CPU gameplay:
